De Cinema and DE SINGEL present the 4K restoration of Yvonne Rainer’s 1980 feature JOURNEYS FROM BERLIN/1971, in the context of Alex Baczyński-Jenkin’s MALIGN JUNCTION (GOODBYE BERLIN), a poignant choreography that oscillates between stasis, loss, and the fractured promise of progress. Widely celebrated as a dancer and choreographer for her distinctive style and as a co-founder of the influential Judson Dance Theater, Yvonne Rainer turned to filmmaking in the early 1970s, after several years of incorporating her 16mm films into dances and performances. JOURNEYS FROM BERLIN/1971 is a collage-like meditation on political activism and revolutionary violence. 𝚏𝚒𝚕𝚖 JOURNEYS FROM BERLIN/1971 3 NOV (20:15) & 12 NOV (19:45) ⤷ Tickets via decinema.be! 𝚙𝚎𝚛𝚏𝚘𝚛𝚖𝚊𝚗𝚌𝚎 MALIGN JUNCTION (GOODBYE, BERLIN) 6 + 7 NOV (20:00) ⤷ Tickets via desingel.be! @desingelartscentre @baczynski.j

◌ ∿ ◜ ∿ ◝ ∿ ◌ Senses & Weaves is our Polish film programme — eight screenings, filmmaker talks and a children’s workshop across three days in Reykjavík, curated by Maja Jankowska and Weronika Adamowska. These are films about relationships — between people, bodies, landscapes, memory and the places we carry within us. About care, understood as a way of seeing. We are bringing them from Poland to Reykjavík with the hope of creating a space for encounter: for those with a Polish migrant experience, moments of recognition and remembrance; for Icelandic and international audiences, an opportunity to discover compelling voices in contemporary Polish cinema. 18–20 September · Reykjavík City Library · Free admission Full programme in the carousel and in our bio. See you at the screenings 🧿🌀 ◌ ∿ ◜ ∿ ◝ ∿ ◌ Zmysły i sploty to nasz program filmowy –— osiem pokazów, spotkania z twórczyniami oraz warsztaty dla dzieci przez trzy dni w Reykjaviku. Kuratorki programu to wspaniałe Maja Jankowska i Weronika Adamowska.
