Nothing happens by accident. God’s timing is EVERYTHING. 🥹❤️ October 16, 2020. I held the keys to what would become our safe haven after years of trying to escape abuse. Behind that smile was a terrified, exhausted, trauma-bonded woman who had spent years secretly packing belongings into storage units, leaving and returning, desperately trying to give her children a peaceful life. I had escaped the environment, but I was still learning how to free myself from everything it had done to me. October 16, 2026. Six years later. Same date. A completely different woman. 🥹 On Friday, I walked into a room of 150+ incredible women at Empowered Moms Live. My Christian apparel brand, Transformation Apparel, sponsored 190 swag bags, and after months of working behind the scenes, I stood onstage sharing what empowers me. Six years ago, I was fighting to find my voice. Now, I’m using it to help other women find theirs. I got to share this beautiful day with dear friends JoJo and Stephanie, and so many incredible women God has placed in my life. ❤️ A special thank you to Emily, founder of Empowered Moms, for creating this community and trusting me to help bring the event to life. Witnessing the tremendous work involved gave me an entirely new appreciation for everything you’ve accomplished, especially in the years you did so much on your own! And the craziest part? One year ago, I sat in that SAME audience with a gifted ticket I ALMOST didn’t use. 🥹 My word for 2026 has been PRUNING. 🌱 And while this season hasn’t been easy, I’m learning that sometimes God removes things to make room for what He’s preparing. Six years ago, He gave us a place to put down roots. Now, He’s teaching me how to flourish. From packing boxes in fear to standing on a stage in faith. The woman holding those keys had no idea what was coming. Every time I walk into a room full of women like this, I’m reminded just how important it is to surround yourself with the right people. Women who love being moms but also wonder what else is possible for them. Women who are building businesses, chasing dreams, and trying to figure out how to do it all without feeling like they’re falling short somewhere. One thing @lorrenablack said at Empowered Moms really stuck with me: “Perfection is not the cost of entry.” And I think that’s something I needed to hear. Because I know I spend so much time trying to be the best mom, wife, friend, and business owner, giving everyone 100% of me. And the reality is, that’s just not possible all the time. I think a lot of us already know we need to give ourselves more grace. But actually doing it? That’s a whole different story. So, what exactly is With Love Live? It’s three hours dedicated to exploring three questions: 1. What did I decide then? 2. What wisdom do I have now? 3. What do I get to decide again? Think about it. At some point in your life, you may have decided your voice didn’t matter. That you weren’t enough. That you had to keep everyone else happy or that being yourself wasn’t safe. And maybe you’ve been carrying that belief for years without even realizing it. That’s what we’re going to explore at With Love Live on October 24. You’ll hear my keynote, an opening keynote from Monica “Mic” Curtis, and stories from our Share Your Wisdom speakers about the beliefs they formed early in life, how those beliefs shaped them, and what they know now. But this afternoon isn’t just about hearing other people’s stories. It’s about reconnecting with your own. Through guided reflection and writing, you’ll have the opportunity to identify a belief you’ve been carrying, connect with the younger version of you who first learned it, and write them a Love Note filled with the wisdom you have today. And before you walk out that door, I want you to consider what you get to decide differently moving forward. Maybe it’s using your voice, setting a boundary, taking a chance on yourself, or finally believing you’re enough. Now I want to turn those three questions back to you. What did your younger self come to believe? What do you know now that you wish you knew then? And what might change if you gave yourself permission to decide again? You don’t have to have it all figured out. You don’t have to share anything you don’t want to or anything at all. And you can absolutely come alone. That’s why I created With Love Live. Not so you leave with a notebook full of someone else’s wisdom, but so you leave more connected to your own. Sometimes it feels like no matter what you choose as a mom, somebody has something to say. You work and put your child in daycare? You get judged. You stay home and don’t contribute financially? You get judged for that, too. Walking away from my corporate job was a really difficult decision for me. Honestly, I still feel like I have one foot in both worlds. I love being a mom, and I also want a career, my own income, independence, and something that feels like mine. So much of this documentary hit home. Going back to the office. Putting my oldest in daycare. Trying to keep breastfeeding, but having a pump that wasn’t as effective and watching my supply disappear. That part alone was brutal. It feels like the U.S. asks so much of moms without giving us the support to make any of these choices feel manageable. And what I kept coming back to after yesterday’s screening was this: we need less judgment. For the mom who wants to stay home. For the mom who wants to work. For the mom who is still figuring it out. We’re allowed to want different things. We’re allowed to love our kids and have ambitions of our own. And we’re allowed to make a different choice when what we need changes. Thank you to @badewithmic and Diane of putting this evening together. I really think everyone should watch this documentary.
