Take this @burton_menswear tee. It will have a very long shelf life as a holiday tee, then a pyjama top, then a running vest, finally it will live out its days as rags bleeding my radiators.

This week I received an awesome reminder of why I became an Entrepreneur. A meeting of about 20 Seattle small business owners met at We Works to discuss their process, experiences and success stories. It reminded me how much I love the ownership of what I do, and I now actually run two small businesses. Styling has always been more of the side hustle, based on the nature of leads and frequency of clients. I appreciate that about it, and honestly wouldn’t change that fact. It’s been a creative outlet and a great one. Doing something for pleasure as much as for monetary gains is a great experience and I highly suggest it. Do something that is just yours, whether is makes you a lot of money or none at all.

Remembering back to an amazing shoot I worked on and a night spent in one of the large industrial buildings in the Boston Seaport. We shot over 12 looks and worked until the morning hours of the next day. This was one of the most rewarding and exhausting shoots I had ever done, and I think I actually came to realize from it that my heart is more in styling clients one on one to help improve and stimulate their lives and self confidence than it is in doing production shoots. Regardless, the creative freedom that is allowed in styling these kinds of projects and the amazing still life art you can achieve is boundless, and that aspect still does draw me to working on set with photographers. Grateful for all the opportunities I have had thus far and excited to continue to get involved and grow in this creative industry🙏📸💕.

It's been a great summer with at @haileyehoffman! She was a total asset to have by my side and I hope she likewise felt she took away some excellent experience from her time with me. We focused on how to book appointments, communicate with clients, build relationships with local brands, market as an entrepreneur, after appointment follow up and more! Having such a great apprentice has certainly made me consider teaming up in the future, and I hope you have a great year back at school Hailey! 📸 @mind.transient

One thing people may or may not realize is that a huge part of styling is making a ginormous goddamn mess!! More or less a huge part of my job is to throw clothes everywhere, forcing models to try on five variations of one outfit in three minutes while the previously dressed model is being photographed. On occasion, all the outfits work out just as planned, but still even then every photoshoot ends with clothes, shoes and jewelry all over parks, streets, studios, and anywhere else that happens to catch our eye! It's pretty perfect, and probably every little girls dream.
