CINEMA DE BLEU (July, 2026)

—
From the deepest depths of my heart, I have to thank everybody who came out and made this night what it was.

Over FORTY people crammed into a small dark room to watch some dope films. Cinema De Bleu had its largest screening yet, and somehow it happened on my first time stepping into the role of film programmer and curator. Seeing something that started completely in my imagination actually take shape in front of me was a beautiful feeling.

Thank you to @creativesafterdark and @createatl for giving me the opportunity to curate and share this space with such talented filmmakers. Thank you to the filmmakers for trusting me with your work. Thank you to everybody who pulled up, sat in that room, asked questions, talked to somebody new, and showed love.

“One Degree Away” came from me realizing how many different creative communities I’ve been lucky enough to cross paths with and serve this past year. I wanted to see what would happen if I brought some of those worlds into the same room.

And it worked.

Hearing afterward that people made new connections honestly meant just as much to me as seeing the room packed. That was the whole point. A convergence of communities that might’ve only been one degree away from each other anyway.

I’m proud of this one.
Until next time, my friends. 💙

From coffee ceremonies to live jazz, from strangers to community, every Buna Blues gathering leaves its mark.

Now there’s a tee to remember it by. ♥️

Fun fact: the person wearing this tee also designed it, @bamlakly.

And the smooth saxophone sound you’re hearing? That’s our talented friend @raymondboycefoundation setting the mood. 🎷

Comment “TEE” and we’ll send you a link to purchase yours.

Say hello to the artist behind the Buna Blues tee, Bamlak Haile ♥️

When we started dreaming up this shirt, we wanted it to feel like Buna Blues itself: warm, welcoming, rooted in culture, and centered around community. @bamlakly brought that vision to life in a way that felt both beautiful and deeply personal.

Her artwork celebrates connection, joy, movement, and the stories that bring people together. Through her lens, this design became a tribute to the Black diaspora, the tradition of the coffee ceremony, and the rich jazz legacy that continues to inspire our city.

We’re so grateful to have collaborated with a local Atlanta artist whose work reflects so much of what Buna Blues is all about.

Show Bamlak some love and if you haven’t grabbed your tee yet, comment “tee” and we’ll send you the direct link to purchase yours, or visit the link in our bio.

A wearable piece of the culture we’ve been building together. Thoughtfully designed in collaboration with Atlanta artist @bamlakly and inspired by the legacy of jazz, coffee, community, and the Black diaspora.
