A maintenance NOC is not a licence to commercialise public property. Public land demands public accountability. Aadarniya Shrimati Leena Gandhi Tiwari ji, Chairperson of USV Private Limited, and the representatives of Arvind Vithal Gandhi Foundation (AVGF), I respectfully seek a clear, documented response. Based on the documents available to us, neither the 2002 nor the 2013 NOC establishes permission for Bandra Bandstand Resident Trust (BBRT) to enter into the arrangement in question with USV or AVGF without the requisite approval of the Hon’ble Maharashtra Maritime Board. Further, our reading of Clause 7 of the 2002 NOC is that it prohibits commercial activities. Permission to maintain a garden cannot automatically be treated as authority to transfer its management, grant commercial rights or enter into arrangements beyond the NOC’s permitted scope. Please produce the specific written MMB approval authorising this agreement—and identify the provision of the NOC under which it was executed. If BBRT supplied incomplete or misleading information, that still raises a serious question about the due diligence undertaken by USV and AVGF. Before entering into an agreement concerning public property, did your legal team independently verify BBRT’s authority, the NOC conditions and the necessary permissions? A private agreement cannot, by itself, expand the rights granted by a public authority. Leena ji, this is a respectful demand for transparency, not a personal attack. If valid authorisation exists, please place it on record. If it does not, we request the Hon’ble Maharashtra Maritime Board to examine the arrangement and take appropriate action in accordance with law. Vandre Bandstand belongs to the public. Every visitor deserves respect, and everyone shares the responsibility to behave respectfully. Many parents have reached out through my DMs, requesting dedicated time in the Central Garden to enjoy with their little ones. We have heard you, and your concerns matter to us.🙏 Keeping these requests in mind, I, Shiraz Bhartiya Ahmed, Founder of Humanity World Foundation, have submitted an official letter to the Hon’ble Maharashtra Maritime Board, requesting: 🕓 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday to Sunday: Dedicated access exclusively for children and toddlers accompanied by their parents, from Vandre & across Mumbai. 🌳 After 5:30 p.m.:Access for all public. This is a proposal awaiting the Board’s approval, not an announced change in garden timings. From the common citizens to celebrities, animal lovers continue to face harassment. How long must compassion be treated as a problem? 🐾 Recently, superstar singer Neha Bhasin Ji reached out to our selfless Xavier Bhai after repeatedly being stopped, confronted and asked to leave Katrak Park, Carter Road, by garden security guards and some locals simply for walking with her dog. Together, we took the matter to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s H West Ward authorities and submitted an official letter. We sincerely thank the officials who heard our concerns, took immediate cognizance and, as communicated to us, instructed the garden authorities that pets and pet parents should not be stopped in this manner. A heartfelt thank you to Xavier the Saviour, a man who works tirelessly and selflessly for animals and their rights. Your commitment gives strength to countless voiceless lives. ❤️🙏 We also thank Neha Bhasin Ji for courageously standing up for her baby and her rights. A visitor from the UK found beauty in our animals—and sadness in how they are treated. 💔🐾 At Bandra Bandstand, I met a UK national who was lovingly photographing the animals and showing them care and affection. During our conversation, he shared how painful it was for him to see animals being harassed in India, specifically mentioning Delhi too. His words stayed with me. The animals he looked at with love are the same animals some people chase away. एक UK national हमें याद दिलाता है कि ज़िंदगी में सबसे ज़रूरी चीज़ों में **प्यार, करुणा और सह-अस्तित्व हैं। अगर वह समझ सकता है कि यह धरती बेज़ुबानों की भी है, तो हम क्यों नहीं? I AM PROUD TO BE AN INDIAN, I AM A PROUD INDIAN BUT I AM NOT PROUD OF INDIANS!! Age should never be used to justify invading someone’s personal space, interrupting a conversation or provoking an argument. Once again, the agenda appeared to be the same: “Keep Vandre Bandstand only for Vandre Bandstand residents.” Vandre Bandstand is a public space.Residents, visitors, children, senior citizens and pet parents all deserve dignity. Everyone also shares the responsibility to keep it clean, safe and peaceful. My humble question to **Mumbai Police**: Is it acceptable for someone to walk right into another person’s face, interrupt their conversation and aggressively argue or give unsolicited “free ka gyaan”? Our campaign seeks accountability from BBRT—Bandra Bandstand Resident Trust. It concerns alleged financial irregularities, unauthorised collections, alleged extortion, and incidents of hatred and discrimination. We will continue pursuing these complaints through lawful channels, seeking investigation and action based on the evidence. We are concerned that parents’ legitimate worries may be used to divert attention from these allegations. Parents deserve answers and solutions. 🇮🇳 PUBLIC PROPERTY BELONGS TO THE PUBLIC! Today, 6 October 2026, BBRT—Bandra Bandstand Resident Trust—faces its hearing at the Maharashtra Maritime Board Headquarters. Our fight began for pet parents, voiceless animals and underprivileged children. It has now raised serious questions about alleged financial corruption, unauthorised money collection and EXTORTION. Who authorised BBRT to collect money for film shoots, garden use, promenade activities and amphitheatre bookings? How much was collected, where did it go, and where are the supporting permissions and audited accounts? These allegations demand a thorough investigation. If money was extracted through threats or coercion, those responsible must face action for extortion under the law.
