Saturday Hopscotch day party action.

Banff @ Neptunes - Kind of weird to have hit the point where I’m going to see a band that has a member that my son played hockey with, but also… these guys are super talented & I like the music they’re putting out. Check ‘em out if you like rock ‘n roll.

Cor de Lux @ Schoolkids Records. Can you tell I like this band?

Goddamn Wolves @ Schoolkids. Fun, local indie rock. Will check them out again.

RIBS @ Schoolkids. YES.

Erie Chior @ Wolfe & Porter. I HATE not making it to shows that my friends play & I’ve been particularly snakebit w/ recent EC shows. Good to see these “Old Friends” again.

most of @banffband has been playing together since middle school, and it shows. their debut EP carries songs that spent two-plus years getting road-tested live before anyone hit record. i talked with tom, james, and xander about growing up together at school of rock, working with the prolific @maxgowan24, and why they hand-assembled their own cassettes and cds (instead of just throwing the thing on streaming and calling it done)
