Part 2 of Anita’s transformation 🤍✈️

Before we could make her dress fit, we had to source materials correctly.

Here’s what most brides don’t realize:

✨ Designer-matched beading
✨ Exact shade of satin
✨ Proper weight + finish of fabric

If the hue is even slightly off, the dress looks altered instead of intentional.

Precision is what keeps it looking like it was always meant to be that way.

Other adjustments we made:
🤍 Added length
🤍 Built-in bra support
🤍 Bustle
🤍 Final pressing + finishing

Alterations aren’t just about “making it close.”
They’re about protecting the integrity of the gown.

My wedding dress didn’t zip...

Here’s what most brides don’t realize:

🤍 A dress being too small does NOT automatically mean it’s ruined.
✂️ Construction matters more than the size on the tag.
🧵 Seam allowance, fabric type, and structure determine what’s possible.
✈️ And yes — sometimes it’s worth flying in for the right hands.

Anita trusted the process.
And we made it fit beautifully.

If your dress doesn’t close — don’t panic.
There are often more options than the internet tells you.

All it takes is a planted seed to change the world.

Over the past month I had the opportunity of delivering the keynote address at the graduation ceremonies of two OBAP ACE Academy programs, each led by dear friends & fellow @delta colleagues. The goal is simple — show deserving youth of color that there is space for ALL in the field of aviation. From flight ops to maintenance & everything in between, representation matters. I know that reality first hand; I wouldn’t be where I am now had it not been for similar programs exposing me to aviation when I was a kid.

I want to share my deepest gratitude for the powerful leadership of @anyatheaviator, @j_muta, @cdrinchief, @banitapplebum, @cherise.marissa and the many others involved spearheading these efforts. I’m also extremely thankful for the countless BOLD volunteers who showed up for these students.

Let us all continue the work necessary to showcase the many shades of blue in the sky. 🤍✈️

What an amazing experience it was volunteer for ACE Academy Maintenance! The kids got to experience so many technical career opportunities! Image being able to tour #Delta TechOps, the airport Train system, the Control Tower, Discovery Flights, Chick-fil-A Aviation and real airline Simulators. Woooooow! Be sure to send your kids to @obapexcellence website for next year’s ACE Academy.

OBAP ACE Camp Atlanta was a great experience . I represented the Air Force so I was Major KT this week! The kids were great. The volunteers were impressive and the leadership team that put the event together was amazing. You will get the most out of your career in flying when you give back. TheBest advice to get started in aviation is to volunteer and be involved.

Last weekend attended the 6th Annual Sisters of the Skies Scholarship Gala. It was my first gala that I attended with my mom and hubby and it didn’t disappoint! Can’t wait for next years!!

So honored to attend @sistersoftheskies 6th Annual Scholarship Gala! It is an inspiration to see the accomplishments of other black female pilots, especially knowing there is only 300 black female pilots out of 700,000 pilots. May Sisters of the Skies continue to impact, inspire, and support the dream of becoming a Pilot and reduce the barriers that may not be present for others. 👩🏽‍✈️
