Crisp morning. Sunny skies. Season's winding down. Gotta get 'em in.

Shout-out to @banslowplay for the good vibes. Always happy to support the anti-slow-play agenda.

NOW OPEN: @orchardvalleygc ‼️‼️

This lovely Chicagoland track reopened last week after nearly two seasons closed. Man did we miss it.

If you’ve considered playing out here but thought it was too far, make the trip. You’ll enjoy this course.

It is such a fun routing, tons of shot options with challenging bunkering and water, water everywhere.

Have I mentioned I’m a sucker for a shared green? I’m sure I have. Check out pins 1 and 4 in slide 2 🤤 there’s levels to this man…

Two birds on the card has me chirping. A smattering of double boxes kept me humble and hungry for more.

We were paired (at random) with two fellow wolverines who helped us cruise around in under four hours. Made it home for a full day of NFL RedZone on the couch. That’s Sunday done right.

Few notes on the course:

This place has been open for a week and the pitch marks and unfilled divots are already piling up. Like a shocking amount. Chicago golfers, be better. Everyone else, you too.

Limited bev cart service was a bummer. @gardettosofficial at the turn immediately repaired that relationship.

The clubhouse looks beautiful, the bridges look restored, and they got the small things right: pins, tee markers, water jugs and hole signage. Hats off to @troon and my appreciation to Bob at the front desk and Bruce the starter. All class. They put the work in. Let’s take care of it. 🤝

If you’re still reading grab yourself a beer and comment 🍻 LYG

Big Run lived up to the name…Big elevation changes, big numbers on the scorecard and, unfortunately, a very big wait on every shot landing us at a 4:40 pace of play.

For a 6:40 AM Saturday tee time, that’s one of the slowest rounds I’ve played all year. Not a course Marshall (or “Advisor” as I’ve been hearing recently) in sight…Shame, because this place has some seriously good bones. Wicked elevation, some really fun golf holes and a layout that deserves a little more investment in the cart paths and all the little things around the course. Ahem @citgofuelinggood (that’s right the gas station owns this course).

Still had a fun morning and I’ll absolutely be back next year.

And if it was you — or perhaps your grandad — in the group behind us who hit into us not once, not twice, but thrice…we were waiting on every shot too, pal. Bummed we couldn’t have a nice conversation about it after the round.

Big Run: fun track, tough scorecard, longer day than anyone teeing off before 7 signed up for.

Now off to go see @terrapin_flyer_band rip it up at @garcias_chicago ⚡️🙌

The first half of the year has been pretty good to me…19 rounds. A low of 76. Plenty of new courses. Even better people. Not a single 5-hour round. These are all wins in my book.

Thanks to everyone who’s shared a tee time, followed along, or helped spread the Ban Slow Play message. Here’s to keeping it moving.

See you on the back nine ❤️‍🔥🫶

This place rocks @thebouldersgolfclub

Short and sweet caption today. Career low 76 on the card and big ass boulders all around. Sometimes a blind squirrel finds the nut.

Got around in less than 3.5 hours and had a blast getting to know my new pals Louis, Jessler and Andrew - You fellas are awesome 🤝👊

Are they using bigger cups at this course or am I having a Doc Ellis Day???
