6 years later…I am officially a Londoner again!!!!! 🥹😍❤️💫

In 2020 I was halfway through my music degree, when my time in London was cut short due to Covid. What was supposed to be a temporary return home, turned into a very long, very hard 6 years - full of confusion, chaos and illness

Every time I visited London after that, my gut knew I was supposed to be here. I’ve wanted to live in London and “make music happen” since I was a child. But as time passed, my London visits became more about hospital appointments and the idea of living here felt like a long-lost dream

Then somehow, in mid-August this year during two visits, something in me just clicked. I knew I had to make this happen, no matter what. Suddenly, the weeks that followed became all about eating, breathing, sleeping…pooping London 🤣 And by 8th September, I actually had the keys to a flat 🥲🤩

I have no idea what comes next, and I’m still learning to navigate my health, but I knew I had to take this leap into the unknown 🌊

Time to make music happen for little me 🫶

New city, new hair! 💇‍♀️

This was one of the hardest days, when the move almost fell through just days before it was supposed to happen… you can ask my hairdresser, she KNOWS every tiny detail 😂

But that book right there reminded me: “I’m a badass” 😂 So I persevered, and I’m so damn glad I did 🥲❤️

I think 3/4 of the family home was literally just my shit 🤣

Admin, admin, red tape, admin… we keep going 💪

Never taking for granted any sunset I get to experience, especially if it’s a London one ❤️

Sista shopping trip 👯‍♀️✌️ We were complete zombies by this point 🙈

And of course, we had to reward ourselves with a double chocolate pistachio cookie sandwich afterwards 😍

From Leicester to London, London to Leicester…and Leicester to London again, because Vanisha apparently has an entire household to take with her😂

It could never be my home without the One who makes it all happen 🙏❤️

My bestie’s sticker gift genuinely carried me through all the madness! 😂❤️

A few weeks ago, my husband finally took me out to celebrate winning my award.

The funny thing is... I won it back in April.

Life happened.
Work got busy.
The diary filled up.
And before we knew it, months had gone by.

It made me realise how easy it is to move straight onto the next goal without properly acknowledging the one you’ve just achieved.

As business owners, we’re always chasing the next client, the next project, the next milestone. We tick the box, say “great,” and immediately ask ourselves, “What’s next?”

But if we never stop to celebrate, when do we actually get to enjoy everything we’ve worked so hard for?

That evening wasn’t really about the award.

It was about slowing down, being present and remembering why I started this journey in the first place.

So here’s your reminder (and mine): celebrate your wins. Big or small. Go for the meal. Take the day off. Share the news with the people who supported you.

Success feels a lot more meaningful when you actually give yourself permission to enjoy it. ❤️

Thank you @manthanmayfair for a beautiful meal and a lovely sweet surprise at the end!

Two years ago, I made a decision that many people couldn’t understand.

I walked away from a career in pharmacy.

For years, pharmacy was all I knew. It was secure, respected and everything I had worked towards.

But deep down, I knew it wasn’t what I wanted for the rest of my life.

As a South Asian woman, that decision carried even more weight. I grew up in a family where careers in healthcare, accountancy and computing were seen as the gold standard.

Success looked like getting the degree, getting the stable job and staying on that path. So when I started talking about digital marketing and social media, people were confused.

Why leave pharmacy?
Why social media?

What many people don’t realise is that social media isn’t just posting on Instagram.

It’s strategy.
It’s psychology.
It’s branding.
It’s creativity.
It’s business growth.

In 2023, I completed a Diploma in Digital Marketing.
In 2024, I left pharmacy and launched The Social Signature.
In 2025, I took myself off the professional register completely. For many people, that was the moment they realised there was no going back.

It was scary. But it was also one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

Today, I have an award-winning business, amazing long-term clients, collaborations with people across the globe, flexibility over my time and some exciting opportunities coming later this year.

The biggest lesson?

The path that’s right for you won’t always make sense to everyone else.

And that’s okay.

If you’re thinking about changing careers, starting a business or taking a leap into the unknown, trust yourself.

And if you’d like to follow the journey, or chat about career changes, business or social media, my inbox is always open.

If I told my younger self that I would be a business owner one day, she wouldn’t believe me. 🥲

Just under 2 years ago I made the decision to quit pharmacy and take that leap and become a full time business owner. And you know what? I haven’t looked back.

A lot of people were shocked when I told them I took myself off the GPhC register last year and they couldn’t believe why I would do such a thing. Some wondered why I would let go of years of hard work just like that.

But it wasn’t just like that and I didn’t let go of years of hard work.

I still have my degree and years of skills and knowledge that I learnt along the way. (Not to brag but I was pretty damn good at my job! 💊 It just didn’t fulfill me)

Being a business owner comes with it’s own struggles especially imposter syndrome but I am much more happier than I was. (I mean the overthinking I did after working all day in a pharmacy was unreal, hoping I didn’t give out the wrong medication to someone in such a fast paced environment 🫠)

Now, I have an award for being a business owner and I have started to travel abroad for work and meeting more and more people from all different backgrounds.

My younger self would be proud.

I do this for myself, but most of all for my inner child who didn’t really believe in herself at one point. Only upwards and onwards from here ❤️

Still riding the high from Saturday! 🥹

Since I was 11, I’d dreamt of going to the Royal Albert Hall one day to see a live music show, and who better than AR Rahman, Rushil Ranjan, and Abi Sampa?

I literally bought one of the last remaining tickets at 1pm, on the day of the show. In the last 5–6 years, I’ve missed out on so many concerts I bought tickets to, because you have to book way in advance in case the show sells out. And every time, I’d either be unwell or in hospital when the time came to go. With the unpredictability of my health, I just wanted to grab the opportunity. So I took the risk. I visualised myself being there, prayed I’d be okay, and just ran with it! 🙏

I started crying before it even began because I felt so lucky to be there 🥲

I just have to post @abisampa performing because her voice is just something else 🫶 I was transported somewhere completely divine and felt so grateful to witness her magic ✨ I’m already looking forward to when I can hear her live again! ❤️

I AM THE PROUDEST LITTLE SISTER OF AN AWARD-WINNING ENTREPRENEUR 🏆🥹❤️

A huge, HUGE congratulations to @bansri57 and her digital marketing agency @the.socialsig, for winning the SHE Outstanding Woman in Media Award 2026! @sheawardsuk 👸

Just 18 months ago, Bansri decided to take a big leap of faith and leave the world of pharmacy, which is all she had ever known since her teenage years. Stuck in her comfort zone and a net of safety, it has taken every ounce of courage, patience, self-belief, hope, determination and hard, hard work to start from scratch and build a creative business all on her own.

It wasn’t easy. But she pushed and persevered and proved all her doubts and doubters wrong! She has come out on top in such a short space of time, despite of all the delays my own health battles would bring to her work life and all the time and energy she pours into looking after and supporting me 🥺

I always, always knew from day 1 that she is made to achieve big, bright things, and this is only just the beginning 🌟

She thanked me in her speech, which really made me tear up, especially as I couldn’t attend. But in all honesty, its HER - her vision, her passion and her ability to handle whatever is thrown at her, that has made this happen 👏 No one deserves this more than you, and watching you win feels even sweeter than my own dreams coming true ❤️

The world better get ready, she’s only just getting started 🚀

I can’t believe this happened yesterday!!!

Winning a SHE Award was actually on my vision board for this year but I didn’t think it was possible as my business is only 18 months old!

Thank you to the judges who thought my business was worth this recognition, a huge thank you to @shafbegum and @sheawardsuk for giving South Asian women a platform like this to showcase what we can truly do, thank you to my clients and those who nominated me because without you, I wouldn’t be doing what I do.

Thank you to my dad @anantbhogaita and my best friends @hiralx @saiyaf.z for coming all the way from Leicester to celebrate this moment with me ❤️

And lastly I want to thank my sister @vanishamusic and my lovely husband @sidharth.shah.125 because without both of you, this business wouldn’t exist. ❤️

Up and onwards from here. This is just the beginning 💪
