“The Top of one mountain is the Bottom of the Next”

It feels like I’ve been in Cape Town forever. But I just calculated and it’s been approximately 3 years and 6months give or take.

In 2015, As an avid filmmaker, I thought dedicating a bit of time to photography after dropping out of university Studying BA Audiovisual at Uj, Trying to start a events business, working as a waiter and shooting photography at a Club. Would only sharpen my eye and inturn make me a better filmmaker.

Little did I know that it would photography would consume me. From finding a camera in a garage, shooting in a club, buying a camera when I was broke as fvck, Going to the library and YouTubing to teach myself how to shoot, my best friend being the first to book me, My Cousin buying me my first lens, Using Leave days when I was working a learnership at Eskom to shoot, Using the Internet at Eskom to email agencies, Lampost responding, Becoming a Dad,Eventually quitting to pursue photography, start Assisting some of the World’s best commercial photographers based in Johannesburg, Doors to Cape Town opening because of that , Joining Cape Collective assist , Starting a production Company Bantukings with my boys and Moving to Cape Town to Asisst both Local and international photographers.

This is in a period of 9 years, Yes I have oversimplified the journey. But I trust you get what I’m trying to convey.

Just wanted to give you somewhat of a picture as to why me being a Signed photographer Today is such a W for me.

Ofcourse, that in itself is a journey on its own and I’m ready to embark on it with all its intricacies.

Please just kindly allow me to live in this moment for a bit and just wallow in what God has Orchestrated.

Grateful for the grace that has been shown to me even in the darkest of times. I have seen his hand in my life. Thank you God for life.

And I wouldn’t be here today, if it wasn’t for the people I have encountered along the way. I am who I am today because of you.

You keep the spirit of Ubuntu Alive in me.

I Love you ❤️
