California’s film and TV incentives are paid for with our tax dollars. The decisions about how that money is spent happen in public meetings, and we have every right to be there.

On September 10th, we wrapped up our two Paris Labs, marking the end of our lab schedule for 2026!

We are so grateful for the two incredible cohorts of writers who joined our mentors in Paris. Hosted by the amazing team behind @NewImages, writers from around the world shared ideas, collaborated, and enjoyed a fabulous Parisian time together, creating connections that we hope will last forever.

This one is quiet, and quiet is how things like this pass.

The EEOC has proposed erasing the federal government’s own record of who employers hire and promote by race, ethnicity, and sex — the EEO-1 through EEO-6 reports — and even the requirement to keep those records. Public comments close August 24.

If you can’t count, you can’t show a pattern. And if you can’t show a pattern, it’s a lot harder to prove the disparity is there. That record matters to all of us.

There’s also a public hearing Aug 11; you can request to testify by Aug 7.
