Gun violence has struck the Bangladeshi community. We demand justice for Md Yusuf Ali (Raju) and stronger protections for the immigrant workers who keep our city running.

Thank you to @the.japneetsingh for organizing yesterday’s gathering and bringing together leaders from New York’s Black, Sikh, and Bangladeshi communities together in solidarity. #endgunviolence #nojusticenopeace✊🏾

Happy Birthday Win Rozario 🤍

Today, #WinRozario would have turned 22. Instead, his family will spend today mourning their son and brother whose life was callously taken by NYPD officers Matthew Cianfrocco and Salvatore Alongi.

Win Rozario should be alive. Win’s family should be celebrating him today, not fighting for the officers to be held accountable. According to NYPD records, Alongi and Cianfrocco still earn salaries amounting to over $250,000 annually.

Support the Rozario family in their fight for justice:

Call on NYPD Commissioner Tisch @nypdpc and Mayor Mamdani @nycmayor to immediately fire officers Matthew Cianfrocco and Salvatore Alongi

Call on the Civilian Complaint Review Board @ccrb_nyc to schedule the disciplinary trial for the officers

Call on the Mayor and City Council @nyccouncil to remove NYPD from mental health responses

Thank you @timesunion for featuring my journey and the work we’ve been doing. It has been an absolute honor to advocate for our community over the past few years.

As I wrap up high school and head off to college, the mission doesn’t stop. I can’t wait to keep fighting the good fight on an even bigger stage. Huge thank you to everyone who has supported, guided, and stood with me along the way, I couldn’t have done any of this without you.

It was a beautiful day to march in the Bangladesh Day Parade in Jackson Heights! I’m grateful to have such incredible community leaders in our neighborhood. I will continue our work to ensure every one of our neighbors is seen and represented 🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩

আমি আমাদের কাজ চালিয়ে যাব যাতে আমাদের প্রতিটি প্রতিবেশী দেখা পান এবং প্রতিনিধিত্ব করা হয় 🇧🇩🇧🇩🇧🇩 A group of people stand outdoors holding a "Bangladesh Day Parade" banner. They look joyful and are surrounded by trees and brick buildings.

Last week, the family of #JabezChakraborty appeared in court for the third time since NYPD shot the 22-year-old in his home in January. Queens DA Melinda Katz continues to seek charges against Jabez who is still recovering from multiple gunshot wounds.

After the hearing, Jabez’s mother spoke outside the courthouse and asked: “Why do I have to be here when I could be with my son supporting his recovery? Why is the Queens DA choosing to continue a case to prosecute my son while he heals?”

Support the Chakraborty family by calling on @queensdakatz to #DropTheCharges against Jabez (petition in bio)

Stand with the Chakraborty family at their next court date on May 15. And call on @nycmayor to remove cops from mental health responses in NYC!

On the 2 year anniversary of Win Rozario’s death, his family called on @nycmayor and @nypdpc to fire NYPD officers #Alongi and #Cianfrocco who are still employed by NYPD and in the past two years have earned over half a million dollars collectively.

Win’s mother shared her experiences and demands: “I can’t believe two years have passed and still the police have not been punished… I want to say that police should not be sent to respond to situations involving illness or mental health crises. Otherwise, more families like mine will be forced to live with this emptiness and grief”

Support the Rozario family in their fight to fire the officers—

Call on the mayor and police commissioner to fire the officers immediately and remove cops from mental health responses in NYC

Stand with the Rozarios in the upcoming @ccrb_nyc hearing to be scheduled this year

2 years ago, Win Rozario was killed by the NYPD. 2 months ago, Jabez Chakraborty was shot by the NYPD. They were both seeking ambulances for mental health support. Join us at a rally on 4/1 at 6PM in Jackson Heights to honor Win’s life and demand that cops stop responding to mental health crises
