Turned one year older, here’s how I celebrated 🍂

Had the most delicious bday dinner at Bar Otto (my yearly go-to)

Finished reading The Witch 🧙 Kinda mad at myself for reading it in English and not in French

Escaped Montreal for a few hours and got some pumpkins for a lil fall decor

Got myself some fall reads!! Realized back home that I got 3 nyrb and I’m not mad about it 🙂‍↕️

Enjoyed this lovely fall weather 🍂

Found the perfect date night spot for foodies in Montreal 🍣🍽️🍸✨

We got the tasting menu at @bar.ottomtl and told them to surprise us! I couldn’t get over how beautifully presented everything was, aside from tasting absolutely incredible 🥰

They were also really thoughtful about dietary restrictions and preferences, which was amazing since my bf is gluten-free 💕

All that plus the great cocktails and super friendly staff, made it such a fun date night!

Definitely add this spot to list if you’re looking for a fab dining experience in Montreal 🍽️

the goal was to pump ourselves with caffeine and alcohol, eat French, Canadian, and French-Canadian food, Haitian food, oysters, and enjoy Montreal summer 😎☀️

we ate hella good and walked ~ 50km on this trip nbd or w.e 😚💅

📍 Mintar - can't go wrong with caffeine and sweet treats
📍 Au Pied de Cochon - fire drinks and fire foie gras poutine 🫦 excellent Newfoundland cod
📍Les Tropiques - ice cream - no notes 😋
📍 Clandestino - great vibes, ducking good cocktail 🦆
📍 Crew Collective & Cafe - staple coffee spot in a former Royal Bank of Canada building
📍 Stellina - definitely satisfied my pasta craving - their tiramisu gets an extra shoutout
📍 Terrasse Perché - vibey with beautiful rooftop views overlooking Vieux-Montréal
📍 Bar OTTO - so glad we came across this bar - fire cocktails and we needa try their food next time we're back
📍 Joe Beef - satisfied my French cuisine craving 😋 loved everything
📍 Kwizinn - a Carribean-fusion spot with fiiiiire food despite being in a touristy area - we love a pretty patio too 😚

honourable mention: Sans Soleil Bar - stay late to dance to DJs spinning vinyl records 🙌🏽

We started with a beautifully plated, fresh and packed with flavor tuna tartare.
The crab baos were soft and fluffy, paired with a garlic-soy sauce and a citrusy yuzu mayo. The richness of the crab paired beautifully with the bright citrus notes of the yuzu.
The shrimp skewers was pretty good but the highlight was the torched salmon oshizushi, topped with jalapeño and spicy mayo. The combination of smoky, creamy and slightly spicy flavors made every bite absolutely irresistible

The mazemen noodles were served with mushrooms, parmesan, and truffle fragrant. The creamy texture and the truffle flavor came together perfectly, creating a rich and balanced dish

To finish we took their classic yuzu cheesecake which was delicious!
