Minimum payments are a trap, and most people have no idea how long they keep you stuck. 😭

If your payment is only 2-4% of what you owe, the card company is banking on you staying in debt.
At a 9% rate, it can take 32 years to pay off.

That’s not a payment plan.
That’s a business model.

The wild part? The better your credit looks, the easier it can be to get stuck in this loop. 💳

Save this if you ever look at your card and think, “I’m still paying this down.”

Barbara’s idea of a perfect Christmas gift? Becoming DEBT FREE! In our newest episode Future Rich, CFP @barbara_ginty met with Megan!

Megan is 38, lives in North Carolina, and works as an Office Manager. She got herself into a bit of a financial situation after moving in with her partner, has no retirement or emergency fund, and plans to move out in one year.

Don’t worry, Megan makes around $67K per year, just got a raise, and is dedicated to getting rid of her $21K of credit card debt! It may just mean a few months of hardcore budgeting to get her there…

Parents or parents-to-be! An emergency fund is not optional. 🚨💸

Life gets expensive fast, and having cash set aside gives your family breathing room when the unexpected hits. At @futurerichpodcast we recommend having a larger emergency fund than you would if you were just saving for yourself. Instead of having 6 months, aim for 9 to 12 months of essential spending saved.

If you’re building a family, this financial move belongs at the top of the list.

What’s one money thing you wish more new parents knew? 👀

Nobody is going to make a viral TikTok about this. 😂

It’s not a hot stock tip. It’s not a side hustle. It’s not a cashback app or a savings challenge you saw on Instagram.

It’s this: consistency.

The women who retire comfortably aren’t the ones who found the perfect investment. They’re the ones who never stopped showing up for their finances, even when life was expensive, even when it felt pointless, even when the market was scary. 📈

Here’s what boring consistency actually looks like:
🤖 Automating your savings so it happens without thinking
📅 Contributing to your retirement account every single paycheck
💳 Paying more than the minimum on your debt — every time
🛑 Not touching your investments when the market dips

That’s the whole secret. No hack. No shortcut. Just showing up. 💸
Boring wins every single time.
