Mental wellbeing has been an integral part of our work and its significance continues to grow.

With the support of @bard_foundation, our work with government school PT teachers integrates safeguarding into physical education through the Table Tennis in Schools programme. This equips teachers to recognise vulnerability, build trust and foster peer support among students.

When safeguarding is embedded in schools, sport becomes more than play. It becomes a tool for protection, connection and resilience.

As we mark World Mental Health Day, we are reminded that safe schools are the foundation for wellbeing, learning and opportunity.

During our Table Tennis Teacher Training Programme, teachers shared why sport is about so much more than just the game.

It is about the physical, mental and social wellbeing of girls. It is about building confidence, developing positive behaviours, learning teamwork, and creating spaces where girls can grow.

Sport is not an extra. It is an important part of a girl’s development.

Train the Body. Strengthen the Mind.
At BARD Foundation, we believe that an athlete’s journey to excellence goes beyond physical training.
Our BARD Fellows participated in an insightful session with Azam Jameel on sports psychology, mental resilience, and the importance of staying mentally strong under pressure.
From handling setbacks to maintaining focus and confidence, a strong mind is just as important as a strong body
