A birthday cake for a friend I haven’t seen in about 20 years. This cake has layers of ultra-moist gluten and egg-free vanilla sponge, rich mango cream, silky pistachio butter, and honey roasted pistachios, covered in vanilla aquafaba Italian buttercream. A beautiful cake for an incredibly cool and gorgeous @bargesmeredith

Thursday is forever a historic day as a ceremony in Battell Chapel to defer degrees upon the first black students at Yale, Rev Crummell and Rev Pennington. Not only were their ancestors in the crowd but they were able to witness the first public apology by a Yale president regarding Yales past racial discrimination. It's been an honor to follow up with the descendants of those I've helped. May God continue to guide me to what Rev Graham quotes as “ my morning star”.The job is finished, the healer needs healing, and now I pass the torch to new leaders. Rise up and continue the pursuit of truth, justice, and humility. 🌟✨ #MorningStar #NewLeaders #TruthAndJustice

Some special moments from a very special year at @yale

Feeling the deepest gratitude for every person who supported me, helped carve out space for joy and pleasure with me, and trusted me to walk beside them through this chapter.

Next up: R e s t i n g like a prayer.

Then summer with the UN Environmental Programme’s Faith for Earth. Let’s go!!!

To all the people who invited me to speak, read, write, sing, organize towards restoration and repair, and simply share space with them at @yaledivinityschool this year: Thank you. Seriously, thank you. I love you all so much.

Reflecting on my journey and feeling grateful. Honored to carry on Rev. James Pennington's legacy of black excellence at Yale. It's surreal to think that I am graduating alongside Yale's first black student, Rev. James Pennington, who was denied his rightful degree for 194 years. The portrait of Rev. James Pennington now hangs in the Graduate Senate's room, serving as a powerful reminder of our history. I am grateful for the members of the Pennington Legacy Group, who worked tirelessly to make this happen. It took a team effort to get this done, and I am proud to be a part of it. #YaleGrad #BlackExcellence #Resilience #Heritage"
