“Dreams & Songs: A Symphonic Journey” is OUT NOW via @evilteenrecordsofficial in US & @provogue/Artone Label Group in Europe.

Visionary artist Warren Haynes is a cornerstone of the American music landscape, lauded as one of the most formidable guitarists, vocalists, prolific songwriters & producers of the modern era.

He effortlessly cross-pollinates genres & unfurls solos that broil with passion in his distinctive, signature style.

Throughout his prolific career as part of 3 of the greatest live groups in rock history – @officialallmanbrothers , Gov’t Mule & @gratefuldead – & an acclaimed solo artist, he’s one of music’s most treasured storytellers.

Co-produced by @donwas & Haynes, the long-awaited 16-track collection – recorded over 2 nights in 2019 alongside the @avlsymphony – explores all aspects of Warren’s incredible catalog and 30+ year career.

“Dreams & Songs: A Symphonic Journey, mixed by the legendary Bob Clearmountain (David Bowie, Bruce Springsteen, The Rolling Stones), reimagines Haynes’s acclaimed songbook & storied musical journey with bold new orchestral arrangements.

Serving as both a homecoming & a step into the unknown, the album spotlights the debut of Haynes’s one-of-a-kind “Dreams & Songs” symphonic show, recorded at the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium in his hometown of Asheville, NC, & captures the thrilling collision between his lineup of seasoned rock ‘n’ roll improvisers – @oteil_burbridge
on bass, @johnmedeski on organ & keys, @sipedrums on drums, Greg Osby on saxophone, and @theedwinmccain and Jasmine Muhammad on background vocals – & the 64-piece orchestra, all led by conductor Rich Daniels from the Chicago City Lights Orchestra.

“The initial concept was to include Mule songs, Allman’s songs, songs from my solo projects, Grateful Dead songs, & even a cover or 2 that I have been associated with through the years,” explains Haynes. “I wanted this record to reflect what I've been up to these last 30-odd years but also represented in a way that's completely unique.”

Like many artists and live music fans, @amnthewilderness has had it with StubHub.

The other week I sat down with the millennial pop-punk piano icon behind @somethingcorporate , @jacksmannequin , and Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness at @oldlightning in Los Angeles. I asked him about the state of live music while we sipped on a rare mezcal.

He vehemently launched into his beef with concert ticket resellers, and how the music industry has stuck its proverbial head in the sand about the problem. Watch it above.

“The level of excess, the level of greed is so disgusting.”

McMahon breaks down the whole con and how it screws over live music fans: bots, algorithms, resellers sitting on your $35 ticket until it flips for $500 while the artist gets nothing.

His fix to a very big problem plaguing the live music industry is almost insultingly simple: Just give artists an opt-out button for reselling.

Seems easy enough, right? So why aren’t more artists calling for a similar approach to the problem?

This clip is from episode one of SIDE QUESTS, a new @brobible series where I get the culture makers we love out of the podcast studio and into the thing they’re actually obsessed with.

For Andrew McMahon, that’s mezcal, so we worked through a tasting at Old Lightning in LA that included a 1970s vintage tequila and a one-time Del Maguey run aged in actual Pappy Van Winkle barrels. All the while, we talked about music, his upcoming tour dates in Chicago, Philly, and Long Beach, his battle with cancer at age 22, his most regrettable fashion choices from the Aughts, and how he used to work at In-N-Out in the early days before Something’s Corporate.

HO-LY CRAP. What an EPIC B-SIDE this month! Being one of the buzziest restaurants in Los Angeles, many have waited for literally hours to dine at @maxandhelens on any given day but for our breakfast club, they were super cool and accommodating! Big thank you to the team there! 🙏

We did breakfast for dinner this month. A classic! The food….THE FOOD…absolutely exceptional! So good. In typical B-SIDE tradition we did table pancakes all around but, had to throw in table waffles as well! How could we not 🧇🥞

We love breakfast even when it happens at dinnertime. 🍳🥣
I can’t lie, I finally tried the matzah ball soup after @lenisebent had one at @canters_deli and it was yummy. 🤤
One of my favorite things about these gatherings is that it’s never just about the food. It’s the deep conversations, the unexpected laughs, the funny stories, and learning what everyone is currently inspired by. This time, we even shared our latest book purchases mine was from the Yoko exhibit, and I can’t wait to dive in.
There’s something special about being in a room with curious, creative people who genuinely enjoy connecting and exchanging ideas. 💫

Nashville for baby Rivie snuggles. Palm Desert for Mother’s Day. Los Angeles for the people who make everyday life special. Then a road trip through Los Alamos and Paso Robles, giving California the chance to show off over Memorial Day weekend.

Not sure how all of that fit into one month, but I’m glad I got so much quality time in with my people! Life is short…take the trip!

B-SIDE #8 RECAP 🔥

We had to do it, right? May’s B-SIDE breakfast was at the very iconic @norms in WeHo. Established in 1957! That’s REAL old. The food though? NOT old. In fact, it was fresh, hot, quick, and tasty! Pancakes were fluffy, French toast was fluffy and by the end, we were all a little fluffier too. A wonderful breakfast indeed! 🥞☕️🍳
