POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Friends ~ I am so beyond privileged to be posting some clips of one of my favourite pieces of music I’ve had the opportunity to perform and work on!

If it’s not totally clear - I LOVE new music and contemporary opera. On February 1st 2026, I had the opportunity to sing the role of Woman in Dr. Karim Al-Zand’s world premiere of A Joint Interest at The Brockman Hall for Opera under the direction of Paul Curran and baton of Maestro Harth-Bedoya.

With permission of Dr. Al-Zand, I want to introduce my internet feed to the music I love most of all ~ music that’s uniquely contemporary and allowing for us to depict stories that are so relevant today, reflective of real people, and telling stories that can unite the world through beauty, realism and comedy! Because this opera is SO FUNNY!

It is a gift to work with living composers and composers and musicians who have and are paving the way for us changemakers to make an impact on the world.

With appreciation for my music community, I am so grateful to present some of my favourite clips from A Joint Interest!

One year ago today, Jack and I drove into our new city and spent our first night in Houston. I can't believe how lucky I am to have found so much love and community here in just a year. Looking back on this past year, I am grateful for the amazing friends I have made, experiences I have had, and opportunities that I have been granted.

Yesterday I had my first rehearsal for my first professional show here (everything about which was a dream come true), and next week I celebrate 1 year at my job. Jack starts year 2 of his master's at Rice in a few weeks and I am, as always, endlessly proud of him. Jack and I have spent many days exploring this massive city, and we've only uncovered a portion of it. We absolutely love seeing the ins and outs of this historic place. I even got to see a world cup game!

And finally of course, I am so unbelievably lucky to have a bundle of AMAZING friends here that spark nothing but joy in my life, and I truly couldn't be more thankful to know/love all of them.

Here's to Year 1 in TX, and to the beginning of Year 2!

And my sons, who played Dear, they gave everything. 💙

So much to say about this show, but I'll keep it as brief as I can. I've been on a bit of a hiatus from theatre for a little over a year with the move and getting settled in to our new city. Getting back into it, especially with this wonderful group of people, was such a joy. Thank you all, every single one of you, for welcoming me with open arms into the Houston theatre scene, and for making this show so special. Thank you also Horizon Theatre @thehorizontheatre for giving me the opportunity to dive into a dream role. Another shout-out to my new Houston family for coming out and supporting me in this show 💙

I feel so overjoyed to have made such amazing theatre friends in this show, and this whole experience will live in my heart for a long long time. Additional shout-out to Sage @sage_the_rage for YELLING at me over Christmas to audition for SOMETHING.

Bye for now DEH 💙

⭐️🔆😍 I HAVE NO WORDS to explain how much I admire superstar @brownlee_bass_baritone I have never met a singer who works as HARD and as SMART as he does. He pretends he’s not a genius to stay humble, but HE REALLY TRULY IS!!! 🤩🤯 Thank you my friend, for spending so much time with, and giving so much of yourself to the world class singers at @shepherd_school.

Truly did not think that I’d have “starring in an opera world premiere” on my 2026 bingo card, but aren’t I the luckiest gal? Thank you to the SSM for giving me the opportunity to portray a character with ‘Ankylosing spondylitis’!

Thank you so much @shepherd_school for this incredible opportunity to sing in @karimalzand‘s opera “A Joint Interest”! Going to school at Rice and having the gift of music in my life is so special.
