Here is the vision our practice created of a freely accessible public sculpture garden for @catskillartspace nestled beside the Willowemoc Creek, on Main Street in Livingston Manor. A place where world-class art meets the natural beauty of the Catskills, open to everyone, every day.

Our design process begins with sketching, focusing on project goals, opportunities, challenges and constraints. We work in several types of computer aided software to refine these images for public presentation.

This has been years in the making. Today, it is closer to becoming a reality thanks to Governor Hochul’s NY Forward program, a state initiative designed to revitalize small downtown communities across New York - and the Catskill Art Space outdoor sculpture garden is a key cornerstone of the plan.

Can’t wait to build this project!!#toddhaimanlandscapedesign #catskillartspace

Stormy weather, so some Thimbleweed (Anemone virginiana) and Tall Meadow-Rue (Thalictrum pubescens) to brighten the day.

Thimbleweed (Anemone virginiana)
Shade tolerant, moist soil. Delicate flowers and beautiful foliage, similar to a geranium leaf and deep green.

Tall Meadow-Rue (Thalictrum pubescens)
A beast, can be over six feet tall (mine is probably at least 6x6). A real anchor in a space and easy to grow. A gorgeous plant.

Both purchased last year from @barkaboomnativeplants . Both Catskill ecotypes.

Reminder! Our market is rain or shine. While we wish all days can be warm and sunny, mother nature has other plans. But rain means more flowers, plants, veggies, fruit, and mushrooms!! Also happy wildlife, waterways, trees, and ecosystems.

We are thankful for the rain even when it falls on a market day.

See you this Sunday, 10am-2pm at Parish Field in Phoenicia.
