What a weekend🐾💙

BarkFest did not disappoint! The energy was incredible, and it was so great to be surrounded by so many passionate dog owners.

We loved meeting so many of you, sharing our mission, and helping get more dogs one step closer to safer rides and adventures.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, asked questions, tried on a Defender Harness, or simply came to say hi!🐶🔒

💜 Forever Family Friday 🐾

The Lazaruk family welcomed their first rescue dog, Simba, in 2020. While living in the North, Lance and Tanya had the opportunity to work with different rescue organizations, including K9 Advocacy Manitoba. Helping rescue dogs brought them a new sense of purpose and joy, and they knew they would adopt another dog someday.

But first, they decided a purebred English Bulldog was a good idea! (Update: they love him, but oh man, he comes with some issues. The snuggles make it worth it!)

Then came Barkfest, where they met Mildred. It was love at first sight for Hailey and Tanya. Lance didn’t even get a chance to hold her! 😆 Tanya, usually the responsible adult, thought three dogs might be a little too chaotic. But after the fourth or fifth visit to Mildred at the K9 Advocacy booth, the adoption papers were submitted before they even left!

Mildred, now Nova, has settled into family life beautifully. Her big brothers, Simba and Howard, have welcomed her with open paws. She’s adjusting to the chaos, although she still enjoys snacking on rocks and leaves (don’t worry, her family keeps an eye on her!). She loves chewing on Simba’s fluffy tail and wrestling with Howard, who outweighs her by 65 pounds and apparently hasn’t figured that out yet. 😂🐶

Here’s what the Lazaruk family had to say about rescue:

“Every dog deserves a chance at finding a ‘fur’ever home, and when they do, they will love you unconditionally. It is truly something special to rescue a dog and give it the best life possible. We have such an amazing bond with all of our doggos, but there is always something extra special when you rescue a dog.” 💜

Thank you to the Lazaruk family for opening your hearts and home to Nova! We love seeing our rescue dogs find their people and become part of the family. 🏡🐾

Happy Forever Family Friday, Nova! 💜

The costumes. The cuteness. The tail wags. The serious fashion.

We had so much fun sponsoring this year’s Halloween Dog Fashion Show at Barkfest 2026! From spooky to silly and everything in between, these pups absolutely understood the assignment.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out and made the weekend so much fun!.

We can’t believe it has been one week already since we were celebrating the dog community in Winnipeg with all of you! What a great time! Taking a moment to look back at all the fun. @barkfestmb

If you love what we do, please consider making us your pet store for all your essentials (and non-essentials 😉). Your support of our little shop allows us to keep showing up for our community. We are thankful for everyone that makes us your pet’s destination - it truly means the world to us.
