We're getting ready for Rural Exchange on 5 November in Mitchelstown, and it's time to introduce some of the people you'll meet there!

From growing food and running local businesses to getting communities involved in regenerative agriculture, our speakers have plenty of stories and experiences to share.

Sarah Prosser | Keynote Speaker
@sazzerprosser is the chief ‘weaver’ at @bioregion_ie and CEO of BWAI. She also works in Norway and Scotland on social innovation and community development. She'll get us thinking about how people, communities and nature can work better together.

John Murphy | Speaker
John knows rural Ireland well! Alongside his work at @ourfarmbushy, Irish Rural Link and CAP Network Ireland, he spends much of his time meeting farmers and learning about their experiences. He'll join us to talk about the practical side of market gardening, from growing great produce to building a business around it.

Ciara O'Brien | Panelist
After years working abroad, Ciara returned to Mitchelstown and opened @barnahown B&B, putting local food and producers at the heart of what she does. She also leads the town's Edible Town programme, helping people of different generations get involved in growing food. She'll share what's happening locally and what other communities can learn from it.

💬 And they're not the only ones joining us!

We'll also hear from people involved in @communitygardensireland, Mitchelstown Edible Town, @slieilementalhealth and the local food and hospitality sectors.

There'll be plenty to discuss, from the challenges of running a small food business to the simple ways communities can get more people growing and eating locally.

📅 5 November
📍 Saint George's, Mitchelstown, Co. Cork

We'd love to see you there!

Unfortunately Ellie can’t make the @mitchelstowntidytowns Edible Towns Junior Farmers Market tomorrow @barnahown but she is delighted her friend Neasa @griffinaoife will be there selling her eggs, jam and happy flowers. The market starts at 10am and there is free tea and coffee for the first 30 visitors. Donation made to @childlinebyispcc

Finally made it to @barnahown in Mitchelstown 🙌🏻 I’ve been dying to see inside for so long, and it did not disappoint. The interiors were phenomenal and the service was top class.

And what better way to experience it than with brunch made by @delaliciousfood ? I’ve had her cookbook for years, so this was such a treat. The food was 10/10!

I love how @barnahown make the most of their beautiful space with such fab events. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for more. Myself and @xvbridies had the best morning and lovely to catch up with an old neighbour @eibhlinobrien ✨

There’s a place for you at the Golden Vale Table.

A kitchen table where recipes and stories are passed between generations. A dining table where local ingredients bring people together. A shared table where neighbours meet and new ideas begin.

Our table also reaches into farms, schools and community gardens - places where people grow, learn and share.

Golden Vale Table connects these everyday moments with opportunities to discover the region through its food, farming and hospitality.

This autumn and winter, we’re inviting you to meet a farmer, a producer, learn a skill, join a conversation or sit down to something delicious.

Where land, food and people come together.

Explore the programme through the link in our bio.

Second collection of images from the dinner at @barnahown with chef @ciarakenneally6 and her team from Adare Manor. It was a special day. My BTS shoots also always include some black & white images which I find particularly expressive. Yeah, I am a negative B&W film and darkroom guy… the love of the medium has never faded.
