American JavFest 2026!! What an awesome opportunity to compete against the top throwers in the country, as well as watch and learn from the pros and icons on the event. It was crazy not having to ask what event people did, and even crazier to get to be apart of it all. Thank you to all the coaches and directors for putting on such an awesome event! Hilarious memories were made with old and new friends that I can’t wait to see again! Until next time!

Congrats to Olivia Barr, Inaugural VA Girls Javelin State Champion! Her throw of 47.61m/156’2” is a top 10 mark in the U.S. for high school girls. We hope she will return to defend her title in 2027!

More posts to come showcasing the athletes who made our Inaugural Javelin and Hammer State Championship a great success, but I want to shout out the athletes, coaches and sponsors who made this vision a reality.

Events like these cannot come together with just one person’s vision. Thanks to our sponsors for supporting this event and making its execution possible @sincere_mal @throwify @throwspro @afroeconomics

I’m grateful to everyone who took the risk of attending not knowing if this was going to be “legit” or not. Hopefully any doubts you may have had were dispelled.

We will be back and even better next year! Perhaps a weight throw state championship in 2027?

Had big dreams of a long javelin career for my son @jet4742 . Ultimately his lack of respect for uniform conventions and inability to get a firm plant in those boots took him in other directions.

Finally, an opportunity to compete for a state title in Javelin and Hammer in Virginia!

Many coaches and athletes across the state have taken on the challenge of training these events that are not currently sanctioned by the high school athletic leagues in VA.

In an attempt to reward that effort, and to encourage others to take up training these events, we are hosting the inaugural Virginia Javelin & Hammer State Championship on June 13th @ The University of Richmond!

“All-State” medals will be awarded to the top 8 finishers in each event.

Registration is open to any current high school athlete that resides in Virginia. Registration closes at 11:59pm on Sunday, June 7th. Link to registration is available in our bio.

Please spread this post so we can reach as many athletes as possible! #hammerthrow #javelin #championship #statechampionships #virginiasports
