The kitchen was planned around more than just cooking.

In a home where family gathers often, the kitchen becomes a place for much more than preparing meals. Coffee, quick breakfasts, snacks and conversations all become part of its everyday use.

Rather than making everything happen in one place, we gave these smaller routines their own pockets within the kitchen.

Everyone can be doing something different, but still be together.

Being together doesn’t always mean doing the same thing.

For this home, we wanted the shared spaces to feel connected enough for the family to remain within sight and conversation, even when everyone is doing something different.

The living, dining and kitchen each have their own place, but none feels entirely separate from the next.

It was really about creating different pockets for everyday life, while still allowing everyone to feel like they are together.

This past week has been a ride, putting finishing touches to a new space we have been quietly chipping away at for the past eight months.⁠
⁠
Some of you in Singapore might know us for our photography work as Studio Periphery, or interior design work as Pupil Office, however @basagoods is where the two circles of the venn diagram intersect.⁠
⁠
Expanding on our personal interests in crafts, utilitarian goods, skincare, scents and more, we poured all of ourselves into curating a selection of goods that work together in a space that hopefully expels all notions of pretence and allows visitors to align with our vision of what living life well with quality products means.⁠

Thank you to everyone who popped in to vibe out over the weekend. It was extremely gratifying to have new and old faces come by with open hearts and open minds.⁠
