There are olive trees living in Greece today that were already old when ancient foremen were ticking off the snag list on the Parthenon.

Such trees are a spectacle – trunks split, hollowed, bowed and buckled – and a totem of endurance. Incredibly, they still bear fruit each autumn.

We think about endurance on our own, smaller scale, but the olive tree remains a lodestar to us: a symbol of things that last. by @tomyships

It's widely understood that the beauty industry needs to move away from mini bottles. That's why we pushed to go up in size and refill less frequently, with bottles that can be reused rather than recycled.

We kept branding to a minimum so that, once emptied and washed, the bottles need not remain tied to their original purpose. They might be used for water, olive oil, or something else entirely. What matters is that their usefulness continues. by @tomyships
