One of our favorite things about DCC is creating spaces where creators and solopreneurs can connect, build genuine relationships, exchange ideas, and grow together both inside and outside the workshop. Celebrating five years of BasBlue 💙 I feel incredibly blessed to experience this place in so many different ways over the years, through programming, fellowships, buying art, meeting good people, and now camping.   I had such a good time celebrating 5 years of a space that has genuinely been a part of my growth over the years. Thank you to @basblueus and @mimetroparks for helping me prove that I do indeed leave the city sometimes. Here’s to many more. 🥂

We've been building something in Detroit. Detroit Creative Community was created to give creators a space to learn, connect, ask questions, get hands-on, and turn their content into real opportunities. This year, we've hosted workshops focused on strategy, branding, content creation, and things creators actually need to know to grow. We want to build rooms where people can learn from eachother, practice, and leave with usable information. We especially want smaller creators to have access to resources and relationships with local businesses so they can progress. If you are a Detroit content creator, come get in the room with us. And if you are a brand, business organization, or community that wants to build more creator education into your space - send us a message! Detroit Creative Community is growing fast! One summer. New experiences. A bigger view of what’s possible. Last summer, through the S.I.G.H. Summer Series, our students had the opportunity to explore careers, build new skills, connect with professionals, and experience spaces they may not have otherwise been exposed to. But we’d rather let them tell you what it meant in their own words. Meet Sleepy Eva and hear about her journey, the experiences that stood out, and how those opportunities impacted her. Special thank you to @thecongregationdetroit @basblueus @gdytdetroit @amandasweetlive Sweet at @revampswapfest @jon.jamar @lmctai and everyone who helped create meaningful experiences for our youth. Since then, Eva has secured a full ride to college, on her own merit, & still continues to be a role model to others. Eva was also one of our scholarship recipients! Diving into day 2 of October’s art challenges with a heavy dose of dark, moody, and monochrome energy. 🦅 First, a quick look at my Harpy Eagle, which is day 2 of #beansbirdtober2026 hosted by @birds_of_bean. This apex predator is currently on my easel and still a work in progress.
