Last Wednesday, we had the pleasure of hosting clients and friends at @hollandandholland1835 for a clay pigeon shoot.

It was fantastic to catch up with long standing clients and meet new faces. We hope to keep building bridges, or staircases. 😉

What a great way to mark 20 years of Smet staircases and to celebrate the people who have supported us along the way. 🍾

Dark stained oak Shaker cabinetry sits alongside SapienStone Fior di Viola porcelain work surfaces, its distinctive veining bringing movement and character to the space. A softly curved half bullnose edge and aged brass handles by @armacmartin add considered finishing details.

A rich, tactile palette in this Fulham kitchen.

🎉 Welcome to PRIME | @bascombdrew

We’re delighted to welcome Bascomb & Drew to the PRIME Community who have achieved their first PRIME Score of 11.

Craftsmanship sits at the heart of what they do, and their first PRIME submission shows a thoughtful approach to applying that same mindset to sustainability.

Here’s a snapshot of their progress across the six PRIME Principles:

🌍 Being Environmentally Better
Reducing paper through electronic filing, improving energy efficiency and working to reduce waste across their office and construction activities.

💡 Embracing Sustainable Innovation
Introducing a shared electric vehicle and developing a Fleet Management Log to better understand their transport-related environmental impact.

📣 Spreading the Word
Their CPD and networking programme brings together professionals across the industry to share knowledge and promote best practice, with sustainability forming part of these sessions.

🤝 Delivering Impact
Looking at how more sustainable choices can be incorporated into their projects to create longer-term impact through their work.

🌟 Making a Difference
Supporting the next generation through student placements, giving back through fundraising, and increasing their recorded charitable donations.

📊 Being Accountable
Using their first PRIME assessment as a benchmark for future progress, while committing to being open about their sustainability journey and learning from others.

👏 Congratulations to the entire Bascomb & Drew team on joining PRIME and achieving their first PRIME Score.

The beauty of bespoke cabinetry is often found on the inside.

Thoughtfully designed fitted furniture gives everything its place, with storage tailored around the everyday needs of the kitchen rather than simply fitted into the space available.

From internal drawers and shelving to carefully considered compartments, every detail has been designed to make the kitchen as intuitive to use as it is beautiful.

A kitchen rich in warmth, texture and considered detail.

Dark timber cabinetry sits alongside softly painted joinery, natural stone and aged brass, creating a layered palette that feels both refined and inviting. Bespoke detailing runs throughout, from the glazed cabinetry to the generous island at the heart of the space.

Joinery is where a house keeps its secrets.

It decides what is shown and what is tucked away - the backlit niche that frames a single object, the wall that opens to a wine store, the door you would never find unless you knew it was there.

Across our projects it is often where the Red Thread runs most clearly. Swipe through some of our favourite joinery moments.

Working from home in style!

A workspace should feel inspiring, not clinical. The warmth of wood, layered textures and one of our handmade rugs completely shifts the mood of this room — making it somewhere you actually want to spend time.

This is exactly why we’re so passionate about sourcing one-of-a-kind Moroccan rugs. They bring depth, character and softness to contemporary interiors.

We’re heading back to Morocco next week and are already sourcing for clients. If you’re looking for bespoke rug sourcing or trade enquiries, send us a DM — we’re always in close contact with our makers and happy to help source something special.
