POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Trouble, my first professional short film played at the Peekskill Film Festival and it was a pleasure to see it again. @donnavivino, the main star got to see it for the first time, the theatre looked like Grand Central, it was that detailed, few of the cast and crew made it, etc. What’s most important is I took my first ever film class, Digital Storytelling in that area back in 2020 and who would’ve guessed I’d be in that area again to see my first professional short film. Another great screening and you’ll see me on that stage as a director or something one day. “They’re gonna put me in the movies, they’re gonna make a big star out of me.” - Ringo Starr 🎵🎥👏😊

presents CODE GIRL — Carol Bash
@bashcarol

As a photographer and an independent filmmaker, Carol Bash’s work is inspired by bold patterns, powerful monuments and the beauty of the natural world. Her art practice also explores themes centered on African American identity, history and culture, in which she often utilizes archival materials to re-center people of African descent into narratives about the future and liberation.

“Black When I’m Blue 2” is a re-imagining of Black women’s power within the universe. The intent behind the work is to place an archival cyanotype of an African American woman within a context outside of the actual time and place in which the photograph was created.

A huge thank you to everyone who came @baugallery this past weekend to celebrate the opening of three shows, BAU Invitational, Surprise Garden @karen.allen.artist and Stillness Speaks.

I’m deeply honored and grateful to the friends, collectors, and supporters who came from near and far to experience Stillness Speaks, my installation dedicated to the memory of Mark Goldfarb. @joanwilson99

One of the threads that runs through this exhibition is love. Love for my dear friend, love for the planet, the natural elements are part of my practice, it nurtures and sustain us, and love expressed through community, connection, and care. In that spirit, a percentage of proceeds from works sold will be donated to @transformationkitchenorg Transformation Kitchen, a new nonprofit in Beacon founded by my friend at @hudsonvalleykitchen, and dedicated to helping transform the lives of marginalized populations through viable employment opportunities. Thrilled the big piece in window found a home opening night. Ty.

The opening also ended with a heartfelt surprise: a visit from fellow @thecritlab @elizabethmlindy, who rushed over from her own wonderful show to offer her well wishes at the very end of the evening. I’m feeling blessed beyond measure. BAU gives us complete freedom and unrestricted opportunity to dream, and invent. Fortunately I have had the curatorial vision of Karlyn @kb_creativeconsulting, her steady hard allows me have the inner space for next steps. This is my 3rd project with her, she helps me thread the needle. Ty Karlyn, my art anchor.

I hope you’ll come visit Stillness Speaks when you can truly be with the stillness and quiet of the experience, and find your own still point. My artist talk will be held on June 7 at 4pm with Carol @bouyoucos, who is part of our BUA Invitational, and recently installed 9 Arches Waterfront @peekskillartsalliance I’ll also share when I’ll be gallery sitting, and I look forward to welcoming you back.

We are proud to announce our final selection of artists for CODE GIRL — an exhibition exploring visibility, authorship, identity, and collective presence through interdisciplinary practices spanning photography, installation, performance, painting and mixed media.

Founders Notes

My lovelies,

As we step into this new season together, I want to speak to you from the place where Sensorella Naturale Body Care® truly lives...that quiet moment when your shoulders soften, your breath deepens, and you finally feel yourself again…

This is my sanctuary.

Soft taupe linen draped over a low table, bamboo screens diffusing the light, a cushion waiting for stillness.

A teapot warming the air, a whisper of what's coming soon.

A space created for contemplation, presence, and the gentle return to self.

This area of my home feels like a room for the spirit, a place where the world slows, the senses open, and the body remembers its own wisdom.

This is the energy I’m bringing into our new season.

Soft. Grounded. Intentional.
A season shaped by ritual, emotional clarity, and botanicals that support your inner sanctuary.

Welcome to the next beginning of Sensorella Naturale Body Care®.
Let’s breathe into it together.

I hope you gain some insight from these 3 clips …

There are 3 components to the vision of “BE THE POEM: Living Beyond Our Fears.” There is the book, the tour, and the documentary. The documentary is directed by @rockwilk and is created and produced by yours truly @_poetgold_

As we walk the journey to submit to the larger film festivals for consideration ( @tribecafilmfestival , @sundancefilmfestival_t, @tofilmfest , and the like), there is certainly a great deal that I am learning.

Most importantly, the Q&A, after the screenings in intimate settings, is so important in helping us develop the final product for the 2026 submission process. To help the doc’s evolution, we are always looking for those who are willing to host a screening.

I appreciate the attendees at @goodworkinstitute who watched the doc and those who were able to stay after. Your questions and feedback were invaluable to both Rock and myself.

Thank you GWI for the space. @ujamaastudio and @dangoldmanphotography for curating the event. Congratulations on your exhibit “RESISTING ERASURE”.

In addition, we extend our gratitude to @sharpimagesphoto and Shirley for their additional support in producing a successful screening.

After the screening, we drove home to @cityofpoughkeepsie and enjoyed an exquisite serving of Toro at @akarisushiny 😋
