Still on a high from learning, listening and performing with the @kofagoinstitute. Spend the weekend with me as a partner, performer and intern for @kofagotaraji’s second annual Teranga Conference✨ (6/12-6/14/26)

To kick off day one, I took my dance majors to participate in their Youth Intensive @gibneydance 🩰

The next day, I attended the tech rehearsals and performed an original piece “Lifeforece” choreographed by @abadaizoboi at @lehman_tnd. Kofago Teraji’s annual production, KASSOUMAII features choreographic research, alongside performances by the @kofagodance 🇸🇳

The final day was one of many presentations and dance classes of African disaporic dance and research at @alvinailey 📚

We thank everyone that came to support, present, teach, perform as guardians of culture, community, and the African Diaspora!

Unbox my new toolkit with me ✨I received new books for my library, an @danceedlab Dance Framework poster, the NYS Dance standards/blueprints, yoga blocks, posters and books of the Dance alphabet from @languageofdancecenter, and so much more goodies.

New tools for me means new tools, new learning, and new skills for students in the classroom to intensify their Dance Education 📚🩰. We can’t wait to use them!

The dance majors and dance team students from @basie72 showed out at Hunter Dance this week! 💜 Our high and middle school visiting programs gives students the opportunity to explore the potential of studying dance in high school, college, and beyond! ✨

Special thanks to Emma Garber, a 1st-year MA student, for pushing these students in their Ballet technique - and to the students for rising to the challenge! 🥰

To end off Hispanic Heritage Month, we had the pleasure of capturing a celebration of culture, community, and creativity at M.S. 72 in Queens, NY! Their students took the stage for a Hispanic Heritage Month show, sharing their pride and unique voices through performance arts. From rehearsals to the big day, this celebration was a beautiful testament to the power of storytelling. 🌎✨ Let’s see what they thought about the celebration 💃
