🩵 Pride of Portsmouth Lion Trail 🩵

We had so much fun yesterday hunting out some of the newly installed, beautifully painted Lions in honour of Portsmouth becoming a city 100 years ago. We might have only managed 6 before the heat got the best of us, but each was so unique and creative, we loved them all. I can't wait to find the rest! 🩵

My highlight had to be Purrlock Holmes (only made more enjoyable by the fact that you could pick up a limited edition pin from the distillery....and I'm ALWAYS a sucker for a pin! 😂)

Instead of doing a book flat lay, I thought I’d show off my bookmarks! I have acquired a LOT of bookmarks over the years, and I love matching them to the vibes of the book (where I can) or using them to show off what else I love!

A lot of these are from small businesses, from Etsy or Waterstones - and I’ll tag who I can!

Anyone else running out of space for their finished hoops?! 🤭

My two big peg boards are almost full and of course there are also more hoops scattered throughout the house. They’re in every room except the bathroom and kitchen (I have plans for the latter!) 🏡

Running a small business solo means I sometimes get a bit overwhelmed by all the decisions I need to make, so I like to ask for help from this community 😊

I’m working on a new needle minder design and am very tempted to go for wood this time. My two existing designs are on recycled acrylic, but I converted this wooden grumpy frog pin by @batty_blossoms into a needle minder and I love it 🐸

I love wooden objects, because it’s a natural material and very tactile, and I think it would make the minders slightly lighter, which would be better for smaller projects 🪵

Then again, perhaps I should stick with what I know, and have all Hoops & Crosses minders made of the same materials for consistency? 🤔

Let's talk about reading accessories!

As much as I can take my Kindle and read anywhere (it had been a life saver for trains and long car trips), I'm a cosy reader girlie at heart!

My reading essentials are:

📚 My Kindle or a book (Obviously)

💚 A cosy blanket and/or my Oodie for ultimate cosiness

📖 If I'm using my Kindle, a Kindle stand and a page turner and remote. As a disabled human, this makes reading so much easier and accessible for me when I'm in a lot of pain or when I don't have the energy to hold a book up!

📓 If I'm reading a physical book, a bookmark is an essential for me! (And I've pictured some of my favourites!)

☕ A drink or a snack (or quite often both!)

Essentials that are not pictured include: my cat, Jasper (who was sleeping when I took this) and my emotional support build a bear frog 🐱🐸
