The Zall Bookstore X Bayin Foundation
A Nomadic Poem of Words and Space

Words are art frozen in time; space is a home in constant motion.

In the contemporary art exhibition The Spirit of Tengri, The Zall Bookstore and Bayin Foundation walk hand in hand as “Cultural Partners.” This exhibition poetically anchors the yurts—which carry the history, nomadic faith, and soul of the grasslands—right into the heart of the modern cityscape.

When the fragrance of books encounters the Spirit of Tengri, words endow the space with thought, while the space embraces the immortal soul of the written word. As steadfast cultural partners, we reshape space through books and dialogue with faith through art. Together, we fulfill our shared aesthetic pursuit: Let art light up your life, let reading become a lifestyle.

Coming into November I was exhausted.
I knew there were quite a few things I attended in October…
But looking back, it was pretty eventful.
Grateful for all the opportunities to see, learn, experience and network. Thank you!

Archipelagic Kinships is a living installation that transforms domestic architecture into a vessel and threshold for remembering, sensing, and tracing transcultural exchanges. Through ritual performances and participatory workshops where visitors mould effigies and offerings, the installation grows over time into a porous shrine-house, linking land and sea, hinterland and archipelago, human and more-than-human.

Had an inspiring chat with Evan Wong, Director of the Bayin Foundation, about their vision to bring Mongolian culture to Singapore through art and education.

It’s fantastic how creativity and cultural exchange can build bridges between communities. Excited to see how Bayin Foundation will share the richness of Mongolian heritage with more people here.

Thanks Christoph @larrys_list for the invitation.

It’s always inspiring to witness how arts and culture from overseas can enrich and influence our local art scene. This exhibition 宅生记 features a thoughtful curation of artists from China and Singapore. The evening was beautifully complemented by a captivating art performance, including one by my dearest Zarina @girlsandghostsintrees
