🍊Konichiwa and happiest of Mondays dearest poets! Fruits in Japan are considered valuable gifts and their colors, aromas and tastes wonderfully represent the October Autumn season. 🍊In the 14th century, Samurai would bring fruits to the shogun, or military leaders to show their appreciation. The people of Japan would enjoy hikes throughout regions, where they’d find coveted fruits, including chocolate vine, round pears and other jeweled fruits. 🍊Gift-giving with respect in Japan has a long history and very much a part of their humble culture, which is exactly what your entries did for us! Your imagery, creativeness and unique words honored their literary and cultural history. 🍊Our “Jeweled Fruit” prompt brought us delectible gifts! From sweet to sensual, bitter to tart, your haikus covered our taste buds with sweetness! Each entry is always a gift and a chance for us to connect with each of you weekly. We are always honored and humbled whenever you write and we feel it more and more. 🍊Each week you join us, we are grateful. Your words and perspectives truly move us with honest gratitude. 🍊Thank you for supporting us. Thank you for tagging, for liking and reposting and for taking the time to master the art of haikus with us! 🍊Let us take a moment to appreciate the gems of our jeweled fruit haikus. Congratulations, Omedetou, to the following poets: 🍊 ICHI (1st) @radiance212313 @stripped_to_ink @poets_voyage 🍊 NI (2nd) @onehaikuweekly @fiddlingwithwords @mind.my.fukrinsei @shefoundherpen @garridykuhnart 🍊 SAN (3rd) @jstvariousverse @whiskeyonherlips @bb_darlingx @stillandgold @jo_allyn @jdwritespoems @tetsu.itshimura 🍊 MEIYO O MOTTE (With Honors) @woodsthenorweigan @upasanarandhawa @dianzoz @bloodandbutterflies @poetrybyeffie @dropsofinkandtears @raajagiri @stitching_time_to_an_old_rock @_wordsbyraven @realdailyhaikus Have a beautiful week everyone! This was a privilege to write for Megan and her team, given her theme is about her #twilightsagathursday. But being such a fan of Harry Potter’s wizardry world she challenged me and our team, #kuku4haiku to write about Harry Potter! This was fun with spells and having an actual muse I used to show my own wicked incantations. I’m every bit a Griffendor Scarlet Wench! Scoot over to her page and read all the incredible entries🦉🪄🕯️🐍🧙‍♀️⏳ Prompt: “Wizardry” Hosts: @mpv_prompts @meganspoetryverses @leonorra_d @dsravenwrites #harrypotterphilosophy #mpvprompts #kuku4haiku •lesameryl •poetry •incantetion •movies •writersofig •poetsofig With my Lumos wand, this half-blood witch will inflict a curse of vengeance. You say thy name when I say no, then so be it... “Crucio!” You now see what I’ve become - the wicked wizardry I’ve learned to draw from. I am Gryffindor Scarlett. A lion of fire. A half blooded witch. Now be gone you Muggle, less than a Squibb. You troll-brained toad, pardon my Hogwart mouth. You’re nothing more than Dumbledorf’s twit. Or Merlin’s pants - an ordinary ignoramus. Forgive my trespassers, just bless my soul for choosing such a Mundungus. He deserves to be tossed into a pit with Lord Voldemort, the Slytherin snake. So with one last act I speak my final words: “Avada Kedavra!” Though an unforgivable curse, I’m willing to live with it Snickering under my breath (I’ve earned it)! @poeticgal360

‼️‼️CLOSED‼️‼️ ARIGATO POETS🙇🏻‍♀️ *Await Resubmits & Follows for Considerstion* 🪭Konishiwa dear poets. We have a new monoku challenge for you. Creativity and imagery are most important. Are you up for trying a simple monoku describing “wabi sabi?” In October time slows down and beauty is in the little things always present. 🪭Wabi Sabi - the practice of finding peace and quiet beauty in the little things vs a bustling, noisy life as the year begins its own natural slow-down. 🪭Change is natural rather than tragic. •wabi more humble lifestyle detached from materialism, favoring peace and quiet moments •sabi beauty that comes with time or physical changes in everyday surroundings - a favorite chipped mug holding your morning tea or coffee. 🪭Find beauty in simplicity (wabi) or the weathered and tarnished (sabi). 🪭This monoku is about being present and noticing the obvious when you slow down and are present. 🪭 •Prompt: wabi sabi moneku •Format: monoku - a single horizontal line haiku containing 13-17 syllables 🪭Key Traits of Wabi-Sabi Monoku: •absolutely no punctuation no capitalization •entire poem is read like one fluid sequence •space used instead of a forced pause, punctuation, but conclusive thought 🪭 Examples: * the rusty gate sings a little lower this autumn (13) * a chipped tea cup cradles the morning light as i sip from it slowly (17) * footprints in the wet sand dissolving into the morning tide (15) * autumn wind blowing the color right out of the leaves (13) * fading ink on a letter that nobody reads anymore (15) 🪭 Rules •Follow our page to be considered •Tag us @kuku4.haiku #kuku4haiku •Please welcome Our very special Guest Host @bb_darlingx and Kuku hosts: @poemsforpause @davisjesssica @meenu_lodha_writes @a.m.poetry25 •Absolutrly NO CAPITALIZATION OR PUNCTUATION - No grammar •Use only 13-17 syllables and write about something “wabi-sabi” •You may use “wabi-sabi” in your monoku but it’s not required •Tag friends (to spread the word) •Two (2) entries per person •Submit poem(s) in comments •No AI!🚫 •48-hour window •If you post on stories, page, please tag us and hosts so we can find you 🪭Arigato. 🍒Konishiwa and hello beautiful poets! We think it’s safe to say, the craving for cherry pie was strong and tasty after reading the entries. The oven’s heat was turned up! The ingenuity displayed in your Dodoitsu poems truly amazed us. From sensual to gut-punching reality, eatable to heart wrenching. All of your perspectives on this sweet dessert were vast and deep, a real trick, or treat! 🍒 🌓And let’s not forget to draw some attention to our secondary and optional prompt, “Harvest Moon.” Autumn is a season of reflection, gratitude, preparation and letting go of what no longer fits…Wow, did you all bring that across! 🍒 Each week we are continually inspired by each of you. You rise to the bar and we strive to raise it higher, and the circle of inspiration goes round and round, all thanks to each of you. We are forever humbled by each of your likes, reposts, shares and tags and grateful for the participation and dedication that you all continue to show to our page. Thank you to our special Guest Host and welcome to the family @lyrics.and.laces!🙇🏻‍♀️🌸🩷and your team: @triciasfollowingherheart & @davisjesssica . Each entry mattered to us. First and foremost, I’d like to apologize for the delay. September has been challenging, so much so, a word came up we never want to hear. Went out and bought a Taylor guitar!! Ever hear a cat scream? 🐈😽Music is good for the soul and so is singing and writing!🙌🏼🥰🎶🎸🩷🌸 My daughter asked me not to sing publicly🤦‍♀️🎤 @kuku4.haiku It is with great pleasure we announce the wonderful Senryu Winners and Honorable Writers. We asked you to go dark, clever, deep and poke fun at any human foibles, flaws, as well as applying that clever dark humor to this haiku family’s sleeping beauty! Thank you to our wonderful hosts @poemsforpause @meenu_lodha_writes and @a.m.poetry25. Dōmo arigatōgozaimasu. 🖤 We more than received some of the best senryu’s writtten by all of you - you clearly are mastering this one! We laughed and enjoyed every single one and love to see every writer growing exponentially weekly. You are making it harder and harder. Well done, everyone. 🖤 Congratulations to all the participants, supporters and friends of writers who so graciously spread the word and some jumped in (not surprisingly). Here is where you got to poke fun or get serious - there is no cutting word or season required in a Senryu. 🖤 ICHI (Ist) @strongandgracefulpoetry @deeepak.devv @dsravenwrites 🖤 NI (2nd) @ansuna_ankaha @bloodandbutterfliess @her.obsidian.muse @bits_from_heart @onehaikuweekly 🖤 SAN (3rd) @the.silken.revenant @poems_and_expressions @poetical_reflections @ron_poet @stitching_time_to_an_old_rock @bb_darlingx @legerdemain07 🖤 MEIYO O MOTTE (With Honors) @me.in.complete @wwfederationz @richa_rain @_being_benign @raajagiri @shanks_plotter @nixdemos @jasminerose.afterdark @fiddlingwithwords @jdwritespoems Well done everyone!
