POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

🗣️In November I’m releasing 27 works from Low Eyes & Loopholes online, a selection from the series of 94 drawings from 2023. Each comes with the video of its making. Each work exists only once.

On the waitlist you get two days of access before the sale opens to everyone, and pay 20% less instead of 10%.
👉Sign up for the waitlist: link in bio.

📐The series started on the floor and went onto paper and into my hands. Last week in Malaga it went back into dance: I turned the rules behind the drawings into Breaking exercises for my crew @dasflavour. Same rules, different bodies.

Groundwork with B-Boy Fuego @felip3fuego at St. Johann Bahnhof, Basel.

🏗️ At St. Johann Bahnhof, these concrete elements seem scaled to the body.Their distances, angles and levels relate surprisingly well to the proportions between joints and rotational points that play such an important role in Breaking.

⚖️ What became interesting was sharing weight with the architecture — using the sloped surfaces for support, redirecting momentum and moving between levels without treating the object simply as an obstacle.

🥊 One of my rounds in the top 8 in Sarajevo in July.

🧩Over the last few months I’ve been developing a lot of new moves — and lately battles have become one of the places where I test them. This round was the first time I brought this one (over the elbows) out.
There’s something very different about developing a move in practice and then putting it into a battle, where timing, pressure, music and the opponent immediately change how it works.

🔥 I’m enjoying that process a lot right now: create, test, adjust, and bring it back again.

Throwback to @cypherforgaza in April with @dasflavour .

🎴 For most of my dancing-life I felt like something is holding me back in battles.
But recently I am able to immerse myself In the moment, be grounded and enjoy every ounce of it.

🌱 A major reason for this shift is DAS FLAVOUR! In the last years we’ve grown so much together.

🚀 I see this battle as a milestone when it comes to transmitting that connection, hunger, fun and shared vision onto the dancefloor in a competitively setting.

👀 Except for one round I felt amazing when I danced – which is a pretty new experience for me during battles.

👀 Part of an ongoing research with @dasflavour

🏛️On the way down from the bridge to the rhine, there is a platform seemingly made for our breaking. The cutted sphere shifts from object to partner —an extension of our bodies, a shared architecture of support.

⚖️ Rooted in Breaking, our practice investigates how movement constructs form:
how weight is distributed, how axes destabilize, how balance is continuously negotiated and how our surroundings and what we dance on, in front or besides influences how our dance is perceived.

♎ Between structure and movement,
we operate within a shifting system of support —
with the environment, and with each other.

🪨 Working with marble for the first time, I developed this design directly in front of the stone it will eventually inhabit.

✏️ I kept the drawing simple and schematic, working with key elements from my series Tales of the Unseen.

🧠 The process moves between a mental image, the drawn image, and the form slowly released from the stone.

🖐️ I find this interplay deeply meditative. It challenges the intellect’s tendency to believe it already knows the outcome, and brings attention back to intuitive knowledge, the thinking hand, and the intelligence of the act itself.

✨ A small first step into a material that carries its own time, weight, and resistance. Hoping to go back again to finish it.

🙌🏼An inspiration as a person and a dancer, his presence already left a positive mark.

🌱Musa is part of Das Entourage @dasflavour since a while now.

💭He came to the opening of my soloshow THE LIVING LINE at Artstübli @artstuebli. Getting my concept and seeing the empty paper he shared an image that came to him in this moment. He imagined himself with multiple arms, merging different krumping positions in a singular moment.

🌁I believe that images are much more than a flat appereance on a surface. They materialize in many forms, sizes and material.

🩻They exist as physical and metaphysical entities and take shape in any medium. Sometimes we are able to access them, or they come to us. If images appear that clearly and the gut feeling is right, I commit to it.

👀In this case I decided to make the image, that came to Musa, the center of the drawing. Intuitively, right on the spot.
