it's thanksgiving y'all. very grateful to be in the position I'm in, but I also want to use this opportunity to talk about the Indigenous Americans who've suffered which is fundamental to the history of Thanksgiving and the land we live on.

For those of you who don't know, the idea that Thanksgiving was a feast held between natives and colonizers is a myth. That feast was a celebration of colonists for the murder of natives and seizing more land. This land is stolen and I hope that as we move forward as a society we can continue to recognize that part of our history, celebrate our diversity of culture, and look forward to not repeat our old mistakes elsewhere.

Love y'all, and please please please, take this time and check in with the loved ones you don't see often. Check in with those you know may be struggling and let them know how grateful you are for them. Have a great holiday y'all

Today is Day of No Silence. Do something good today. Speak up. Shout-out to that guy who said he feels like Marsha P. Johnson.

The city council at Dumont, New Jersey recently created an ordinance that bans all non-government flags at all government buildings. This would include the pride flag. New Jersey is known for its commitment to DEI initiatives and for being a "blue" / democrat-run state, and it's so easy to assume that the Trump administration could not affect it. This video explores how that is not the case how the rise of conservatism is making an impact, one town at a time, right under our noses, and how it is our job to protest and speak out however we can. Watch the full video to find out what happens with the ordinance, and the potential impacts it can have elsewhere!

Hey all, I wanted to write a more personal note about what happened at Dumont. With the help of the collective force of people who want to do the right thing, we blocked an ordinance that would limit the representation of already underrepresented communities. I'm incredibly grateful for those who spoke up. You guys don't understand the shock I was in when I walked into that room and saw 150 people squeezed together (mostly) all of them with the intent to block this ordinance. In such a short amount of time, we were able to organize and show the council that people are willing to fight. That is insane. I spoke to Councilwoman Petry, and she has shared her commitment to pro-LGBTQ+ causes in Dumont, and I'm hoping that the people of Dumont will be willing to share those fruits. I have expressed this many times, and I hope that people will understand and share my motivation, but I am not from Dumont, but I still encouraged those who could to come. This was not just to fight for Dumont, but to fight for a future threat that they themselves could face and expect the same solidarity. When we fight together we win together. When we speak up we make things happen.

When we speak up. we. make. things. happen.

Silence is a choice, a choice we can not afford to make. Always continue to spread the word. I love you all, always. Please, have a fantastic night.

Still have more reflection to do on the council meeting in Dumont last night, but I don't believe it's all over. I think steps can still be taken to reverse this decision and we'll do our part to make that happen. In the meantime, the best thing we can do is to continue talking about this, and spread the word when decisions can be made in the future. Thank you to the over 50 speakers who talked at this meeting, and let's make every one in the future standing room only.

I have more footage and thoughts, that Ill hopefully be able to edit by the end of the week. ( If you have any footage or pictures that you're willing to share I would be forever grateful and I'll be sure to tag you it you wish in future posts if they are used!)

Also for those on computer here is a link to the Northjersey.com article: https://www.northjersey.com/story/news/bergen/dumont/2025/02/12/dumont-nj-to-only-fly-government-flags-at-borough-hall-no-pride-flag/78461751007/

( if you cant access it just look up "Dumont Flag ordinance" you'll be able to find it. )

Much love to all, have a great night.

I had the absolute honor of presenting on behalf of my organization BCGSA for the Bergen County Youth Leadership, Seeds Of Change summit. I got to meet so many young LGBTQ+ 🏳️‍🌈 activists and allies (and reunite with some old ones) that are all dedicated to fighting for and supporting our community.🤞

It was genuinely such a heartwarming experience knowing that there are so many students SO dedicated to supporting each other and SO many organizations and adults that are dedicated to giving US the platform to keep fighting for ourselves.
I will never not be grateful for this wonderful opportunity, and I can't wait to see what we can accomplish by the same time next year! 💙

We are not alone
Never stop fighting.

As we look ahead to the coming months, it’s crucial to confront a reality many in #BergenCounty and #NewJersey are already experiencing: a growing #HousingCrisis right in our own #backyards.

This isn’t just a statistic—it’s a #challenge impacting #families, individuals, and our #communities as a whole. Our #intention isn’t to #alarm, but to shed light on an issue that demands #action.

We need to bring this to the forefront of conversations with our #PoliticalLeaders and decision-makers. Affordable, safe housing is not just a need—it’s a right.

Together, we can #advocate for #solutions that prioritize #stability, #equity, and #opportunity for all. It starts with #awareness, and it continues with action. Let’s build a future where no one is left behind.
