♥️🌿 It was an absolute honour to speak at Birmingham Design Festival @designfestbrum this year. To me, BDF is much more than a design festival, it is also a very welcoming community where people come together to connect, get inspired and make new friends. Thanks so much for having me!

I had the pleasure of opening the Analogue Stage on the first day with my talk, “Illustration as an Agent of Change”💭, where I shared how murals and outdoor illustrations can create positive change in our cities, from transforming overlooked places into moments of curiosity and shared reflection, to encouraging us to slow down, engage more deeply and revisit familiar places from new perspectives. 👀 Drawing from my public art projects, I explored three forms of change: Change in Participation, in Space, and in Connection, and reflected on how walls can become platforms for dialogue, collective memory and local identity.

A huge thank you to @luketonge , @danielalcorn , the entire BDF team and all the volunteers for making the festival happen. (I was definitely a little nervous beforehand, but I did my best to share my experiences honestly, and I hope the audience enjoyed the talk :)
Also thank you to everyone who came to the talk (tickets were sold out 🥹) and joined the Festival. It’s wonderful meeting many amazing people last week!

Our Art&Design students had a taster day at BCU where we explored their BA Photography, Graphics and Illustration courses. Students took part in a variety of practical activities from collage to drawing and were able to have a look around at all of the current exhibitions up. It was an incredible day!

This was my final uni project and I’ve loved every second of it, these were created by combining gelli plate printing and digital collage 🫶
