2025 has been a transformational year in so many ways. The chaos of the cosmos has been felt deeply these last 12 months. Getting laid off in this volatile economy was not in my bingo card. I’ve always been able to pick myself up and dust myself off, and evolve into the next iteration of my career. But this year was different, for many of us. Constant layoffs and the rise of AI coupled with the shaky economy has been a bigger barrier and disruption than we expected. I will not lie, I fought a major ego death to overcome the constant rejection and confusion.

What do you do when you’ve always been the top of your class, and always had great luck with your career, and suddenly the things that worked for you in the past no longer have legs to support your growth? You realize that your worth does not equate to what you accomplish or what you produce. You get creative and invest in yourself in new ways. You open an astrology business and provide insight into how others can better understand themselves, while you gain perspective and insight just into how versatile and creative you are.

There were some moments this year that I felt so down. And it was hard. But this was also a very joyous year in so many other ways! I traveled, A LOT, and had so much more freedom than I’ve ever had. I celebrated, A LOT, not only myself for my 40th but for so many important folks as well. I was surrounded by amazing people, friends, my great family, and my loving spouse. I crossed off bucket list items, like seeing a show at Red Rocks and going on a heritage adventure in the Czech Republic. I got 3 tattoos and a new cat! I started a moon circle to help empower women in a system that doesn’t support them. And so much more.

If you are still reading this, life has ups and downs and it’s easy to get lost in identities we have created for ourselves in our minds. You can always reinvent, start something new, pivot your career, open a restaurant, sail around the world and none of those things will determine your value or worth. Continue trying new things, continue living (and loving) when you have no clue what to do. You are worth it.
Goodbye, 2025 ✌️ I hope 2026 is kinder to us.

For Ben’s birthday, we did a 1984-themed costume party. Which would’ve looked great in color, but all my color film was 200 speed or slower, so I had to use B&W since it was early evening.
