I think we (@be.rnd536, @nicolafesta76 and yours truly) were blasting through Cefalù, Sicily when we ran into this one. And I didn’t even notice it at first actually, it was the yellow Frenchy in the backdrop of picture 2 that made us stop. Maybe for a future Friday, that one is…
But what is this huge family Break, for #wagonwednesday? It obviously has a name that is longer than the car itself. As this is an Autobianchi Bianchina Panoramica. Always loved how that trimpiece upfront reminds me of two teeth, as if a bunny is watching you. Just the color is a tad boring. But that’s also very usual in the animal kingdom ofcourse…

First Maarten (@car.spot.maarten) showed off that Citroën Dyane in “Beige Ennuyeux“ yesterday. Then Bas (@carsoftheweezenhof) kicked in with his “Vert Bambou” masterpiece. So how can I ignore this Dyane in “Orange Cedrat” I spotted last Saturday. At least I think it is that color. But maybe Dennis (@retrocarspots) knows more on the orange color names.
Spotted this somewhat neglected French piece of starting patina while doing the #targafloriomemorial2026 together with Bernd (@be.rnd536) and Nicola (@nicolafesta76) on some Sicilian backroad. The SP 146 bis to be exact. And, so I learned recently: SP is for “Strada Provinciale”. And apparently la Provincia doesn’t have sufficient funding looking at the condition of all those SPs!

The least favored “generation” of the Giulia tipo 105: the Nuova Super. In one of the most favored colors: Prugna. The brownish purple named after plums. I think it’s Roel’s (@zoabmagazine) favorite color, despite not having a thing for purple cars. It looked gorgeous on the Sicilian streets of Collesano. Although those wheels would have to go instantly if it were in my garage.

In Mainland Italy I saw quite some Alfa Romeos 145 and barely a 146, on Sicily it was the other way around. And this 146 was my favorite, on the streets of Collesano. Highly patinated, super friendly and enthusiastic owner - who was a tad camera shy. Sure there’s some patina but on this it only adds to the allure right?

A religious experience. That’s how I’d subscribe the last few days on Sicily. When I drove the “circuito piccolo delle Madonie”, of Targa Florio fame, for the first time in 2014 it was still somewhat pioneering around. But amazing. So when Bernd (@be.rnd536) and Nicola (@nicolafesta76) asked if we should go there again I immediately jumped in.
And a lot has changed. Positively. As road signs are added. The old stands at the start are being renovated. And what I didn’t see in 2014: the way the good people of Collesano, our HQ these days and the city that houses the Targa Florio Museo, eat, sleep and breath the Targa Florio.
So is it a wonder you see, while zipping our “caffè” and talking to some locals, a Mercedes-Benz 170D driving by that appears to be driven there all the way from Germany? Maybe not.

#mittelmotormontag is on two excellent midengined Porsches I got to try last few days in Switzerland/on Sicily: Porsche’s 982 platform. Bernd’s (@be.rnd536) lovely Cayman GTS and Francesco’s (il marito di @enza6312) Spyder RS. And on the Sicilian roads with some rain especially the latter on semi-slicks proved to be a handful. But extremely fun. Thanks for the trust Bernd & Francesco, amazed by this and a tad jealous on the wheels you have!
