Moments of joy, entertainment & inspiration for care experienced communities. 🎉

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Last night at 10 Downing Street for Black History Month. Even more phenomenal is that their team asked me to bring some Black care experienced legends along for the fun. Quite the moment, as care experienced peeps, being in that space. 💚

Then strolled into another Downing Street reception today to mark a new govt initiative aimed at recruiting more foster carers. Timely & needed.

Great times meeting old & new friends & chopping it up with our PM. 👌🏽

(Cheers @benshermanofficial for the fit 😮‍💨)

The Be Inspired team are so incredibly proud of @nkechisimms right now, who has made front page of The Observer today, sharing her story about fighting her local authority for her care files.

Thank you Nkechi for sharing a struggle that so many care experienced people have to navigate. Bringing this issue to national attention is a phenomenal achievement. Thank you so much. ❤️🎉🎉

On reflection of being on the Creative Futures panel at @be_inspired_uk alongside @nkechisimms @donnie_sunshine @lola.jaye where we shared our journey into the creative industries, my wife reminded me of a story I forgot to share. One that might be of value to young creatives starting out.

When I first started freelancing in motion graphics back in 2012, I didn't own a laptop. I packed up my desktop iMac into an XXL bag and carried it on the London Tube to client offices every day. My agency at the time, @thecrewingco, and clients like @essencemediacom_uk probably thought I was crazy. But this is what I had to do to secure the work, earn the money, and eventually buy a proper laptop to freelance like everyone else.

Do what you have to do to get to where you want to be.

P.s Thank you to The Crewing Company for taking a chance on me back then despite my lack of portable gear. And to MediaCom for kindly offering to pay for my taxis after the first couple of days of seeing an interesting arrival with an XXL bag.

BE INSPIRED 2026 🔊🔊🔊 Celebrating talent, ambition and possibility with 300 care-experienced young people @ministryofsoundclub 💫 What a day!

Always a pleasure to contribute my love and energy for music and creativity alongside talent like @ashleyjbaptiste @lucykatebarnes @nkechisimms @sophiassocials @swarzyshire @k.i.z.z.i ⚡️

This is the kind of event care-experienced people have been wanting for a long time. Thank you @ashleyjbaptiste and the @be_inspired_uk team for filling a gap that has been needed but often overlooked. Onwards and upwards for next year and beyond. 🚀

Thank you to every young person who sent me a message, asked for advice, took a pic. Always grateful hearing my story has connected.🙏🏾

Always a pleasure to represent alongside care-experienced talent smashing it in their own field. From DJs to lawyers. Journalists, actors, broadcasters and entrepreneurs. @imbbarbz @lucykatebarnes @sophiassocials @nkechisimms @ashleyjbaptiste I was really in awe of how these legends articulated their story and purpose. Kent County Council x Be Inspired was a vibe! Thank you for having me. ✌🏾

Smashing those glass ceilings up…together.

What an incredible day @be_inspired_uk 2026 was - 300 care-experienced young people at @ministryofsound 🎤

To be on this all star panel was an honour for me, as was meeting the incredible young people and cutting some shapes (we still got it 💃🏽)

So much love to @ashleyjbaptiste @be_inspired_uk team, @ricflomusic @sophiassocials @nkechisimms @swarzyshire @restlessandroaming ✨

I left so inspired so I cannot imagine what this level of accessibility and empowerment means to the young people - I know to me as a care leaver at 16 it would have been EVERYTHING.

BRING ON 2027????

2 Talks in the same day, ark at me 🤣

I had the privilege of speaking at Be Inspired UK TWICE!sharing my journey with the next generation of entrepreneurs.

It was an incredible event, and a real reminder that every successful business starts with a single decision…
to begin!

I shared how we’ve built one of the most recognised air conditioning companies in the UK, becoming the #1 Daikin installer in the UK.

From 2 people to a team of 20.
From 1 van to a fleet of 15.
From an idea to a multi-million-pound business.

Not because we had all the answers, but because we were willing to take the first step, keep learning, and keep moving forward. I shared hints, tips, stories and life experiences of my own in the business world.

The biggest message I wanted to leave with everyone in the room was this:

In 5 years time you’ll either look back and thank yourself for starting today… or wish you had.

If you’re waiting until you feel ready, you’ll probably be waiting forever.

Just go for it!
Don’t be scared to take the jump, take small steps, build on the side… then jump!

Start before you’re comfortable.
Learn while you’re building.
Stay consistent when the excitement wears off.
And never let someone else’s opinions affect your own.

Get comfortable being uncomfortable

If just one person walked out of that room with a bigger belief in themselves than when they walked in, then every minute on that stage was worth it.

You never know one decision can change everything

Thank you to Be Inspired UK for having me.

Now… back to work. 🥶🚀💚
