i am so very grateful
for the ways in which my creativity
has expanded and deepened
over the course of this past year

i am so very grateful
for the creativity of my ancestors-
from the creation of their children,
their creativity in navigating through life,
and the artistry they shared with the world-
especially for my departed grandfather
and clothing designer, LeRoy Lloyd

i am grateful
for my surviving grandmother
and crochet queen, Celia Lloyd

i am grateful for my mother,
Sabrina Henderson,
and all the creativity she has modeled
since I can remember.

i am grateful for my daughter,
Subira, who loves to paint and draw
and dance and sing

i am thankful for the creativity
that flows through our blood

to every single artist
and embodiment of divine art,
i thank you immensely for your inspiration

we are creations
of all of creation
creating infinitely

keep creating out of love
for the love of creating,
for the love of each other
