Romantasy BookCon is going to be UNREAL!

If you love romance, gothic fantasy, and stories that make you feel like you’re in a dreamy dark fairytale — my books are for YOU. Can’t wait to meet readers and authors both old and new!

I’ll be at a panel on Wednesday at @bncolonialorlando, a workshop Friday at RomantasyBookCon, and at my table the rest of the time! I love chatting, so please come say hi! 👋🏼

I wont have books for sale at my table, but you can bring them from home or purchase copies from the on-site bookstore.

✨ABOUT ME/MY BOOKS:✨

I’m the NYT bestselling author of Dream by the Shadows and Cursed by the Dawn, a gothic fantasy duology about a girl who must partner with her kingdom’s villain to survive a dangerous dream world and save her little brother.

Think Beauty & the Beast meets Labyrinth — for fans of dark fairytales, enemies to lovers, sad villains, dreams, shadow magic, moody atmosphere, dark castles, haunted dream worlds, masks, knights in armor, and slow burn romance.

Give me a cursed family, a creepy old estate, forbidden magic, and a man with questionable intentions, and suddenly my TBR has a new priority…hbu?

This is Blackwicket by @beanorthwick , and she’s bringing all the dark, gothic vibes we love this time of year.

One of my favorite parts of putting together Reading Rituals is creating an entire experience around the story.

The book, the atmosphere, the little extras that make you want to cancel your plans and disappear into another world for a few hours.

And this one? She’s practically begging for a candlelit reading session with all the moody vibes (and snacks…always).

Tell me, gothic romantasy girlies: are we here for the forbidden magic, a stubborn, sharp-edged, fiercely independent FMC, the family secrets, or the morally questionable men? 👀

Need a gothic romance this spooky season… make it this one. 🖤🥀

The Cruel Dark by Bea Northwick is forever one of my all-time favorites, and honestly, October just isn’t complete without it.

Give me a haunting gothic atmosphere, dark secrets, a little romance, and a story that stays with me long after the final page… and I’m SOLD. 🕯️

If you haven’t added this beauty to your spooky season TBR yet, consider this your sign. 👻

What’s one gothic romance you wish you could read again for the very first time? 🖤

👻Drop your favorite spooky season recs below!👻

If I’m being honest, I could have kept going… I LOVE spooky books. I love thrillers, and ghost stories, and vampire stories, and botanical horror, and feminine rage stories. Give me all of it!

I read it all year, but tis the season to be creepy for most people, so I figured it was time to share some favorites. And even as I’m posting this, I’m remembering some favorites I forgot to include like Maeve Fly and Intercepts. Oh, and The Whisper Man. And House of Leaves. And Frankenstein and Edgar Allen Poe’s repertoire…. And and and… the list never ends. 🙃

A little cozy.
A little spooky
A dash of banter
A heaping dash of steam.

What fall vibe read is on your radar this week?

October After Dark 🖤

A little late to the party, but my October TBR has officially entered its spooky season!

This month, I’m embracing all things dark, mysterious and a little bit wicked.

There’s a little bit of everything on this list. Gothic horror, dark romantasy, paranormal romance and even a few dragons thrown in for good measure!

And yes, this is an outrageously ambitious TBR. Do I genuinely believe I’ll finish all these books before November? Absolutely not. Will I try anyway? Obviously. 😂

Can we also appreciate these gorgeous sprayed edges?

Naturally, Salem insisted on supervising the photoshoot. Every gothic library needs a resident black cat, after all. 🐈‍⬛

While it’s spring here in Australia, I’m fully committed to embracing the Halloween spirit, even if that means reading about haunted castles and sinister secrets in the sunshine.

Now tell me, which of these books would you pick up first? And what’s on your October reading list?

October TBR | Books & Authors
