Huge thanks to Ms. Stewart’s third-grade class for the passion and heart they poured into making this project a reality. We can’t wait to see how this new space inspires friendship, belonging, and community for every young Bearcat.

Our Middle School Community Service Club wrapped up another incredible school-wide food drive for Dare to Care! Thanks to our amazing students and families, we collected 6,656 pounds of protein-rich canned goods—nearly double last year’s total!

A huge shout-out to our outstanding facilities and maintenance team for loading the truck, and to our friends at Schmitt Furniture for delivering the donation.

What an excellent example of stewardship, Bearcats!

The @daretocarefb was established after the tragic loss of nine-year-old Bobby Ellis to malnutrition on Thanksgiving Eve 1969.

Peace, love, and community! That was the message Mr. Racine shared with our Bearcats during this morning’s Lower School Hispanic Heritage Month Assembly. 🎉 The KCD Theater was filled with song and dance as our third graders showcased their learning through performances that incorporated lessons from their Spanish and music classes to honor Hispanic culture.

Special thank you to Ms. Collier, Señora Jennings, and Mr. Racine for bringing us all together for this collaborative celebration!

During this morning’s X-Period, Upper School students had the privilege of hearing from Dr. Jonathan Weeks, a distinguished physician board-certified in both Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Addiction Medicine. With more than 30 years of experience in clinical practice and medical education, Dr. Weeks offered an informative and thoughtful presentation on substance use disorders. His insights sparked important conversations and gave students a deeper understanding of the complexities surrounding addiction and health. We’re grateful for the opportunity to learn from his expertise.

This morning during Middle School Community Time, we had the privilege of hearing from Mr. Racine, who delivered a thought-provoking talk entitled “Leading with Heart and Impact.”

He invited students to consider what it means to lead with authenticity, to approach others with genuine curiosity, and to cultivate empathy as a foundation for stronger community connections. Mr. Racine also guided students in understanding the impact of stereotypes and offered practical strategies for addressing them with care. It was a meaningful reminder that leadership is most powerful when rooted in heart, respect, and understanding. 💙💛

Friday night’s All-School Tailgate was a blast! 💙💛 Between the bounce houses, face painting, and quality time with friends new and old, there were smiles all around—reminding us of just how special our Bearcat community truly is. To top it all off, the @kcdfootball Bearcats ended the night with a big win against Spencer County (29-21)!

We also would like to express our gratitude to GreenScapes Lawn & Landscaping for their outstanding work in preparing our campus and football field for the start of the school year and the 2025 Bearcat football season. Their attention to detail and extra care helped ensure that our facilities are ready to welcome students, families, and fans. Thank you, GreenScapes, for your partnership and commitment to our school community!

At this morning’s Upper School X-Period, Mr. Racine kicked off our new “Community Conversations” series with a powerful message on Building Stronger Community Connections. For our first conversation of the year, we were grateful to welcome back former KCD student Dushant Lohano, who shared insights into his personal journey through belonging, grief, growth, and resilience.

His story sparked honest reflection and real emotion across the room, reminding us all of the strength that can be found in vulnerability. We concluded with a simple yet important invitation: Be the kind of community member who shows up, who sees others, and who cares. This is how we build the community we all deserve. 💙💛
