Happy 10th Birthday Nutmeg 🥳 ad invite

Many great things came to Bristol in 2016 with Nutmeg and J9 being some of them 😉

Raja from Nutmeg came to Bristol with the idea of owning and running a fantastic Indian restaurant in the city showcasing the regions of India through fantastic food and he’s done a smashing job! Making some of the cities best dishes, Raja has created an incredible dedicated team and built an incredible customer base.

We had such a fun evening celebrating with the Nutmeg team, their friends and families, customers, their landlord and more!!

I know I am one of the content creators in Bristol that always shouts about new spots to visit in the city, but I do think we all should be shouting about and supporting all the businesses that have stood the test of time, are still consistently making fantastic food and have built and incredible community.

Film credit @beardedjourno Cotham School is an exempt charity regulated by the Department for Education. Its Articles of Association state that it has power to:

• acquire, alter, improve and (subject to such consents as may be required by law) to charge or otherwise dispose of property;

• spend money to do all such other lawful things as are necessary for or are incidental to or conducive to the achievement of the Objects.

So it can only alter property subject to obtaining necessary consents. The mobile CCTV compounds require planning consent and don’t have it. The school can only spend money on ‘lawful things’ but it knows the mobile CCTV compounds are unlawful and has been spending money on them since September (the first two) and October (the third one).

Bristol City Council confirmed in December 2025 that these CCTV compounds are unlawful (they don’t have planning permission).

Our debates were a big hit last year, so we decided to bring them back and even better, we are going to discuss the mystery of the price of your coffee!

Please, don’t fall for those beautiful smiles, there will be bloody and tears of who win the argument of what is the right way to price the coffee that you drink every morning from a coffee shop.

@beardedjourno will defend the customer point of view: As the Editor of Bristol24/7, Martin Booth has skilfuly managed to create a job for himself that regularly includes drinking speciality coffee.
