Thank you to @controlledcombat for giving Terran a platform to grow and showcase his skills. Grateful to his opponent for putting it all on the line tonight. Finally, last but certainly not least, to all our coaches and teammates, this W is for the whole team! ☝🏼

William made his brown belt and IBJJF debut this past weekend at No Gi Pans. He placed 3rd in the adult brown belt super heavyweight division, defeating both a WNO competitor and the number 2 seed on his way to the podium.

I'm endlessly proud of the work this kid puts in and the talent he has. I knew this would be a good event for him to showcase his skills and challenge himself, but the fact that he made the podium at his very first IBJJF major? That's something special.

Love you, buddy. Congratulations on an awesome debut. Excited to see where you go from here. ❤️

A month and a half ago I received my black belt. Today I made my black belt competition debut at No Gi Pans.

🥉 I lost my match in my weight class, but it was really cool having 3 other ladies in my bracket. They were all incredible, and I hope to meet them again as I continue to grow my game and work to become a better competitor.

🥈 Signed up for the open division to get more matches, and I won my first match via points. Got subbed in the finals to take silver. Stoked to have gotten a win at black belt, especially after it took me so long to earn one at brown belt.

I went into this tournament knowing it would be extremely difficult, but I really wanted this experience and I'm so glad I did it. I have a lot to improve on, so I'm excited to take that data back home and keep getting better.

Huge thank you to my coaching and cheering squad for all the help today, and to all the training partners who helped me prep for this event. Love you guys 💖

Three of our coaches competed at IBJJF No Gi Pans today.

William - 🥉 in the adult brown belt super heavyweight division. This was his brown belt and IBJJF debut after just earning his brown belt a little over a month ago. He went 2-2 (after a weird double DQ in the finals made him go again), taking out the number 2 seed in the bracket in his quarterfinals match.

Brit - 🥈 in the M2 featherweight blue belt division. She had an epic finals match with nonstop action and a solid buggy choke attempt.

Mel - 🥉 in her M2 brown belt open weight division after a dynamic match with multiple toehold attempts, plus a default 🥇 in her M2 super heavy brown belt division due to being solo in her bracket.

We are so proud of these guys for not only training hard leading up to this event, but for doing so while teaching and helping our other students continue to grow.

We'll be back at it again tomorrow! Good luck to our members and friends competing! 🙌

Rolling on the River 2026 💖

This event was so fun! Really wish I could have made it for all 4 days, but I made the most of the 2 days that I was able to attend. Seminars, floating down the river, yummy food, hanging out with friends, torrential downpour with crazy lightning and a glow stick party...we experienced it all 😂

The Potter squad got to kick off the opening night with all of us teaching together, and that was SO cool. Thank you to all of our friends who came to learn from us!

And a huge thank you to all the people that made this event possible. All the instructors, all the attendees, @coachrobriverbendbjj for creating this super cool event, @spiderman.matt (who I didn't even get to see all weekend 😭 but congratulations on your promotion!!), our friends at @obx_soundside_mma, Rita for the delicious food, and everyone else who helped make this camp so awesome.

Can't wait until next year! 🙌

Rolling on the River day 3 photo dump. Evening classes featuring @livvy_bjj with an awesome spider guard sequence. Then @coltonsmithmma and a brutal collar choke sequence from close guard. Closing with @lucasbarbosajj with a side control to mount and back take sequence. Sweet photo bomb by @jelynwaltz included.

Looking forward to the photos/videos from @___.sparroww.___

Day 2 of Rolling on the River 🌊🥋✨

And we’re not even close to wrapping up yet.

There’s nothing quite like waking up to morning yoga, then spending the day surrounded by incredible classes, good food, endless smiles, and even better people.

There’s something special about being in a place where the people around you start to feel like family, where you’re constantly inspired, challenged, and given the opportunity to learn and grow alongside people who genuinely care about your progress.

This is more than just training. It’s community. It’s connection. It’s pushing each other, learning from each other, laughing together, and making memories in between.

And somehow… it’s only Day 2. 🤍

Rolling on the River 2026, we’re just getting started. 🌊
