Yesterday was intake of new work and we couldn’t be more excited about it. Five local women artists have studied the work of well-known artists from the 1950’s abstract expressionism era and made new work inspired by them.

Featured in our exhibit is work by Diane Reeves, Tara Kelley-Cruz, Valerie Lloyd, Becca Day and Jes Moran(not pictured )inspired by Joan Mitchell, Lee Krasner, Elaine De Kooning, Grace Hartigan, and Helen Frankenthaler in corresponding order listed.

Pictured in the second photo is Joan Mitchell, Helen Frankenthaler, and Grace Hartigan.

The work in this exhibit is beautiful and fresh take on a style which continues to inspire artists today.

What a day! Yesterday’s Art All Around Studio Tour was absolutely incredible. So glad to be a part of this art community here in the Springs. Thank you to everyone who stopped by and to all the wonderful artists who made this event happen, it was beyond amazing. Hope it went well for everyone else. Big time thanks to @melloencaustics for kickstarting this thing with all your time and effort putting it together. You’re a rockstar! The colors in this painting, Ode to Lilith, play well in so many different settings. This is one of Becca Day’s largest paintings to date, and we are so glad she went big. It makes an incredible statement. (48” x 60”)
