Okay so this is a late night post but I just had to share this beautiful book and my thoughts! So this week I finished the second instalment of the #onceuponabrokenheart series and it did NOT disappoint. This trilogy is just so whimsy, romantic and fun that it’s truly addictive to read! I can’t believe I’ve not read it sooner and will now be really annoying as I recommend it to every I know that reads from this point onwards! I also thought I’d make a late night post just to discuss my lack of consistent posting. I found the community on here really difficult to break and recently have found myself struggling with views and engagement which has been playing on my mind a lot. I have to keep reminding myself that it’s not a race or a competition, my account here is my journey as a reader but more importantly a writer. My work in progress #romancebook is coming along nicely and I can’t wait to have a first draft finished (though it may take some time)! I guess what I’m trying to say is thank you to those of you who have supported me consistently. I’ve tagged some of you that truly are my saving grace on this app (though there are probably many more of you I’ve forgotten and for that I’m sorry!) #theballadofneverafter #evangelinefox #bookreview

✨ VIDEO GAME 🎮 BOOK CHALLENGE 📖✨ #qotd what’s your favourite video game? 🎮 Thank you for the challenge tag @mountainsandmoodreads 💫 Tagged others but if you see this, give it a whirl 🫶🏻 🎮 Level 1 - Fast Paced Book 📖 For this one I decided on The Housemaid, purely because I read it in like 7 hours 😅 it was definitely a quick paced book and I enjoyed it - but the second one for me was probably my favourite 💙 🎮 Level 2 - Book that surprised me 📖 As a romance girl who only dabbles in other genres, I can honestly say that I was surprised how much I loved Project Hail Mary 💫 I knew I would enjoy it because I was recommend it by 2 people who haven’t lead me astray with their recs before. I was just shocked how much I loved it, it kinda put me in a slump because it was that good 😭 🎮 Level 3 - A book that made me emotional 📖 Your girl is a crier 😂 I mean I could have just taken a picture of 90% of my bookshelf and this one would be covered. But I set on the Last Letter. Just when you think your heart can’t be broken anymore, Rebecca comes in with a wrecking ball and quashes your entire being with that ending 😭 🎮 Side Quest - Most recent book purchase 📖 Braving the Storm special edition 😍 it looks so pretty on the shelf I just can’t turn down a good sprayed edge 🫶🏻 🎮 Boss Battle - Hardest book I’ve read 📖 I am a Tolkien girl: I LOVE The Hobbit, I love the Lord of the Rings and I do enjoy Silmarillion but my days 🤯 my brain HURT reading it. Tolkien is a genius and I admire the world he created but this one was tough going 🙃 🎮 Final Boss - A book you’ve been putting off 📖 Okay Booksta - DO NOT come at me with this one 😂 I keep putting off A Court of Mist and Fury. I read A Court of Thorns and Roses and I enjoyed it but I wasn’t gripped to carry on straight away, and I fear it’s been overhyped 👀 and I do wanna get stuck into the Maas universe but what if I don’t enjoy it? Will I become public enemy number one, will I have to change my name and hide? 👀 🎮📖 A throwback game I always love has to be Simpsons Hit & Run 😅 oh and Assassin’s Creed! What a game 🫶🏻🎮

🤍🤍🤍 This Valentine’s Day is going to my girls. I do not know where I would be without them. When I started Bookstagram it was to find community and friends. As so many of you know motherhood can be isolating and lonely. I had found so much joy in books and wanted to find other people who felt the same. Not only did I find that, but I found so much more. I found some of the best friends I could have asked for and honestly they’re not just friends.. they’re like sisters to me and I could not be more grateful. I don’t know how I would have survived this last year alone without them. Having my baby last year really kicked my butt and still is kicking it to be honest, and I have not been able to be as social as I was before and don’t even get me started on my reading 😭. BUT each of these amazing women were not only there to help me, but also to cheer and encourage me along and I am just so blessed to know each and every one of them. 🥹 So this year for Valentines Day, I’m asking them to Be Mine!!! 🥰 I love you all so much. Thank you so much for being apart of my life. They also all have stunning accounts, so go give them some love. They deserve it all. 💋

It’s been a very hard few months for me. Setting aside 3 near fatal and 2 dangerous medical emergencies in my family, I’ve now officially been made redundant at work. 140 people lost their jobs, and after five weeks of what we described as The Company Hunger Games, I was one of the losers. Of my (old) team of 7 creatives, only 3 kept their jobs. So to say the end of the year has been absolutely exhausting is putting it mildly. I wanted to update everyone sooner, but I’ve been desperately fighting to keep my job (this includes a bunch of evaluations, applications and documenting all the work I’ve done for them the last four years, as well as all the work I did in the communications fields before it) - and not wanting to drag you all along. But by the heavens, I miss you all. I miss my friends and my community. Now the battle is over and I’m hoping to make it back now, permanently 💜 I’ve had so many arcs to read, so many books I was excited to share - but then everything hit so fast, I haven’t had the capacity. Honestly, whatever time i haven’t spent on work or family, I’ve been doomscrolling without the ability for anything. Thank you all for sticking around and I’m now ready to close out 2025 and enter 2026 with a clean slate - and LOADS of bookish joy 💜 (Ps; all my family members are now okay or in outpatient treatment 💜)
