If you’re looking for a day out that feels different, the Black Country Living Museum is absolutely worth adding to your list 👀

The museum brings over 250 years of Black Country history to life, covering everything from the Industrial Revolution and underground mine experiences to Victorian shops, traditional homes and a fully functioning 1930s high street.

What makes it so special is how hands-on everything feels. You’re not just reading displays you can actually step inside the buildings, watch historic trades in action and speak to characters in costume who share stories about what life was really like during different decades.

There’s also plenty of traditional food to try throughout the museum, from beef-dripping fish & chips to traditional hot meat cobs and sweet kali! 🍴

Plus if you’re a Peaky Blinders fan, make sure you pick up one of the maps showing all the filming locations around the museum while you explore.

Definitely one of the UK’s most unique day trips.

You can actually visit where Peaky Blinders was filmed 👀

The Black Country Living Museum in Dudley is one of the most unique day trips in the UK, with historic streets, traditional shops, an underground mine experience and vintage pubs that make you feel like you’ve stepped straight into the past.

And what makes it even better is that it wasn’t built as a TV set.

The museum brings over 250 years of Black Country history to life, covering everything from the Industrial Revolution through to life in the 1960s, with original buildings, live demonstrations and characters in costume throughout the site.

And for Peaky Blinders fans, you can even pick up a map showing the filming locations around the museum while you explore.

It’s only around 35 minutes by car from Birmingham city centre too, making it an easy add-on to a city break or day out.

Honestly, it’s unlike any other museum we’ve visited in the UK.
