Night two of St. Louis Fashion Week kept the momentum going and made one thing very clear: the talent in this city is not just showing up, it’s showing out. FEY opened the night with sophisticated design, thoughtful details, and pieces that could work for day and night. The black two-piece dress with the asymmetrical ruffle hem detail... LOVE! Sarah Skelly brought a strong point of view to the runway, with looks that felt artful, expressive, and made to spark conversation. The colors were so vibrant, fun, and lively and worked perfectly against the beautiful backdrop by Vaughn Davis Jr. Mays Bros. Clothiers delivered craftsmanship, tailoring, and storytelling in a way that felt both rooted and fresh. For Look 11, the model was giving a HEAD-TO-TOE Aspen apres ski moment and the way that final red dress presented on the runway... MIND BLOWN and CHEF’S KISS! HZUCHELLI brought modern edge and confidence to the runway. There was structure, detail, pops of skin, and a breeziness in the pieces that would be at home at the chicest cocktail parties. Crispin Mulatto gave us drama, creativity, and a styling that delivered maximalism and a MORE-IS-MORE mentality. For me, it was the jacket with the gold chain detailing and a lapel COMPLETELY COVERED in broaches. And then THAT CAPE! An overall chic and demure color palette, but punched WAY up with vibrant pops of red. Shelby Bryn told a story, one which I had the incredible pleasure of hearing from her first hand at Monday’s opening gala. She’s a designer with a perspective, point of view, and a message—to not get trapped in the world we’ve created. Ten years. That’s how long Saint Louis Fashion Week had been absent from the city before this week. When we made the decision to bring STLFW back, we knew there would be challenges. Launching in a new city, rebuilding a brand that had been gone for a decade, earning trust, and creating something people would believe in again wasn’t going to be easy. But from day one, St. Louis embraced the vision. Over four sold-out runway shows, we watched designers, models, sponsors, volunteers, media, and fashion lovers come together to prove that fashion belongs in this city and that this community is ready for something bigger. I also have to take a moment to thank the incredible team (some not pictured) that stood beside me every step of the way. Most people only see the finished product, but they don’t see the months of planning, the countless meetings, the problem-solving, the long days, and the even longer nights that happen behind the scenes. This team poured their hearts into bringing STLFW back, and there is no way this week would have been possible without their passion, dedication, and belief in what we were building. Watching them celebrate this week and seeing all of their hard work come to life was one of the most rewarding parts of this entire journey. One of the most meaningful moments of the week came when the City of St. Louis presented an official proclamation declaring this week as Saint Louis Fashion Week. To see STLFW return after a decade away and receive that level of recognition from the city itself was truly special. Thank you to our STLFW PR manager, AK Brown for making that happen! I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who took a chance on this first season back. Your support, enthusiasm, and belief in what we’re building made this week unforgettable. After ten years away, Saint Louis Fashion Week is back. And we’re just getting started. Here’s to two seasons in 2027! On Monday evening, St. Louis Fashion Week officially began with a celebration at Powell Hall, gathering designers, creators, artists, entrepreneurs, and supporters who all share a belief in the power of possibility. Fashion is often viewed through the lens of garments and runway shows, but its true impact extends far beyond what we wear. It is storytelling, culture, and identity. It is the courage to be vulnerable in pursuit of something one believes in. What inspires me most is the vulnerability behind the work and the willingness to create, to innovate, and to express unapologetically. That kind of confidence deserves to be celebrated. Thank you to the many Saint Louisians in our community who are helping shape the creative future of our city through their artistry, ambition, and determination. This past Thursday, I was delighted to join the St. Louis Fashion Fund at Forest Park Forever’s charitable event, celebrating their 40th anniversary coinciding with the park’s 150th birthday. Forest Park is without a doubt St. Louis’ most cherished space. A 1,300-acre playground of discovery that holds the St. Louis History Museum, St. Louis Art Museum, St. Louis Science Center, the St. Louis Zoo, the Muny Theater, The Boat House, two golf courses, stunning landscapes, architecture from the 1904 World’s Fair (like the very pavilion we’re standing in), and so, so much more. And did I mention most of which is free to the public? This park is so much more than a scenic view. It’s where all are welcomed, invited to move their bodies, stay curious, and get some vitamin G. It is the first place I bring a guest from out of town, and the first place I think of when I have a leisure day to myself or with a loved one. It’s no wonder that Forest Park was named the No. 1 Best City Park in the nation by USA TODAY. I’ve never experienced anything else like it, and I am endlessly grateful that it’s in St. Louis.
