Movement Precedes Performance

When beginners first start out, it is ideal to focus on building sound quality movements patterns before focusing on performance. I liken strength to a pyramid in which the base of the pyramid is movement quality and our strength is the peak. The longer we spend focusing on building the base, especially with beginner lifters, the higher we can expect the peak later down the track

To ensure that we allow for quality movement patterns to be engrained, we must train at loads that allow us to express optimal motor patterns more often. This means initially performance needs to take a back seat whilst we optimize movement. Focus on movement first and performance will come #strengthculture #huntprogression

New Member and soon to be powerlifter @becpotalej taking 55kg for a ride.

Something we have been working on for a little while with Bec, and something we try to instil in all our newer lifters, is that you should make every rep as consistent as possible.
.
This can be difficult with the bench press as more often than not it is the hardest of the big 3 to develop the skill of lifting.
.
The current cue we are using with Bec is to ‘Press Short’, only think about moving the barbell 95% of the up phase to limit protraction of the scraps.
.
Bec is full time member under the guidance of Head Powerlifting Coach @quantum_lifting.

One of my fav trainers actually my first trainer @becpotalej always has the best intentions and making my F45 Journey the best experience.
