🎃Check out our last full month of FREE outdoor music at market!🕸️

As we all know, our music offerings are weather dependent...electricity and live musicians don't mix well with rain and cold 🥶 So make sure to take in all the music outdoors while you can this month! 🎶

👻We've got a fantastic lineup for spooky season. Some oldies, some newbies...all local and LIVE 🔊

See you in Robinson Plaza every Saturday for some good tunes, good times, and good veggies 😉

This song comes from the ache in my belly at how those who are most astutely attuned to the cycles and rhythms of life are the ones called “crazy” and deemed “mad” by our society.

I have lost innumerable friends to suicide over the course of my 30 years Earthside and know nearly as many sensitive souls who have been locked away in mental health institutions that usually (but not always) leave them feeling more lost, alone, and ungrounded than when they entered.

My Grandma Berdine~ my dad’s mom who I never met~ was once of those women. She comes to me in ceremony now telling me nahhh she’s not crazy, she’s just like me. So this song is for her and for the wild crazy witch within us all.

It’s for the part in me that wants to hide and shut down the sound of her own voice but chooses to sing because there are those right now in real time that would give anything and have given everything to be able to sing as freely as I can. For them, singing is a risk on their own and their families lives that they courageously take again and again. For me, singing is a privilege that I frequently turn away from out of shame, fear, and not-enoughness.

The song Grandma Berdine, reminds me to keep singing, speaking, shouting, whispering the aliveness inside. It arose from many different wells within me and singing it aloud feels like bearing a deeply buried part of my soul… truth pouring from lips.

In PRIMAL POETIX, we sing, write, speak, dance, and pray from this place. The real-real. The ache. The grit. It’s not about sounding good but it’s also not NOT about sounding good. When we give ourselves fully to the pain, beauty abounds.

DM me PRIMAL to scoop up the early bird rate before doors close 🐺

If you’re here, reading this, you’re probably a lil crazy too 🖤

And may we remember now more than ever that all systems of oppression are intrinsically connected.

xx Anna

☀️ Sweet summer melon mocktails & cocktails that hit just right; off-the-vine tomatoes turned into mouth-watering bruschetta; the golden pink rays of the setting sun lighting up blushing zinnias and laughing faces; this was Aperitivo in the Garden last Saturday evening. It was a celebration of locally grown seasonal delights right here in Colfax, California.

👩‍🌾 Farmers and non-farmers alike were busy in the dirt this summer: sewing seeds, transplanting starts, weeding, re-routing drip tape, and more, all so they could harvest a rainbow-colored bounty and share it with others.

🌱 The @outfielders_community_garden is a place where salt-of-the-earth folk come together to share their knowledge and wisdom across generations while communing with nature.

In downtown Colfax, facing east, you behold the garden at dusk, the zinnias, dahlias and tomatoes towering above ground cherries, tomatillos and strawberries. An Aperol Spritz glows neon orange in your hand as you sink into an ivory loveseat, listening to the sweet soprano of @beeeigen and her guitar.

Reach your hand toward a silver platter laden with Italian-inspired bites and savor delicacies prepared by Chef Kallie of @snapdragonprovisions

An evening of garden beauty, Italian-inspired indulgence, and the unexpected pleasures of a summer night in Colfax.

Nearly 100 people gathered at Sierra Vista Community Center to support Colfax’s hidden gem, Outfielders’ Community Garden, for its third annual fundraiser, Aperitivo in the Garden. Photos by Ashlay Catalina and Kelsy Terry📷 #colfax #aperitivo #communitygarden #spritz🍹 #placercounty

This weekend was a blast. 🙌🏼

Thursday we opened for @stellaprincemusic at @folsomhotel and it set the tone for everything that followed. Huge thanks to Stella for having us, to @beeeigen for being awesome, and to everyone who came out that night, you made our second show of the Slow Burn Tour one we’ll never forget.

Friday we played @thehotelcafe in Hollywood for the first time and were blown away by who showed up and packed that little room. What an honor to play at such an iconic venue. Thank you so much for having us.

Saturday we were at @flatlanderfest in San Diego and it felt like a high school reunion. We didn’t know what to expect but the energy from that crowd hit different. Familiar faces singing our songs back to us, and so much love from people we were meeting for the first time. That festival reminded us why we started doing this. Thank you again @angieamsterdamn for having us.

Sunday we filmed a music video for our next single “The Road” in a back alley covered in the most incredible graffiti and anime art we’ve ever seen. So glad we got to meet some of these artists in person and shake their hands. What an honor. We cannot wait to share the finished product with you!

We are a DIY band. We don’t have a big team rolling with us. We’re just figuring it out as we go, and weekends like this make every mile worth it. We showed up to every room not knowing what to expect and left every single one with full hearts. We’re so grateful. 💛🤘🏼💛

Small Business Meet and Greet # 5. 👗

Superbum Vintage Boutique, Sacramento, CA. 👗👗

Now this one was a fun one. I am obsessed with vintage stores and this one took the cake. I could have literally spent days trying everything on. Huge, huge thank you to so many of you who drove 2+ hours each way to come to this event from all over California. I loved meeting all of you. Sacramento, I’ll be back.

Night Five of my Summer Tour. Last stop before LA. 🌵🐎

The last time I was in the Sacramento area, I was 18 years old. I had booked a show at a brewery. When I showed up, they forgot that I was scheduled to perform. This time around, there was a line of people waiting outside the door. Pretty full circle moment. 4 years later. 🥹

Thank you to the iconic @folsomhotel for having us play, and to @khumradio, @khha94.7, and @kfugcommunityradio for the three radio interviews. Huge shoutout to @beeeigen and @cherishaband for opening the show. My first time in Folsom, CA. But not my last.

Up next… LA. Tonight. See you soon, @moroccanlounge. 🤘
