Calling all of WA Bees, there’s some new establishments in town! 🐝🏨 Thank you to everyone who showed up this morning for our first ever Bee Hotel Workshop with @beeman_workshops A.K.A @beesandblossoms.aus! It was amazing to see the whole community come together to learn about our native Australian bees and how we can create safe nesting habitats in our own gardens and local environment🏡 Fun fact: WA has no native honey making bees - all our honey comes from introduced European honey bees 🍯 We hope you all had a great time and learnt something new, we’ll see you all at our November events - keep an eye on our Co-Exist app! 🌱 #coexist #perth #events #bee #community

🌱Midsemester Recap! 💡Bee Hotel Workshop with Clancy from @beesandblossoms.aus! 🐝In week 1, SAPS helped host Clancy’s renowned bee hotel workshop! 🐝 It was a full event where our members learned all about bee hotels and the native bees in Victoria, followed by creating their own bee hotels to keep or to give to SAPS, which were then placed at the Unimelb’s community garden. ☀️ 💐It was a wonderful hands-on experience, where each person helped make urban green spaces better for the native bee population. 🐝 💡Check out @beeman_workshops to see upcoming workshops! 🌟Thank you to everyone who joined us! We hope to see you in other events.🤗 ‼️Speaking of events… Our AGM is TOMORROW!!! On Thursday the 17th! This is your chance to join the 2027 committee and get a wonderful experience in student clubs‼️ #unimelb #umsu #clubs #bees #soilandplantsociety

Term 3 Bees and Blossoms workshops with Clancy Lester @beeman_workshops and Emily Lange @riverconnect complete. Tatura Primary School, Murchison Primary School, Toolamba Primary School, Greater Shepparton Secondary School, Sacred Heart Primary School, Harston Primary School and a homeschool student participated in hands on pollinator education workshops at our local rivers and wetlands, collaboratively making native bee hotels to install at school gardens. We have had an absolutely bee-utiful time out in nature this term. Thanks to all the teachers and schools for bringing their students along. Special mention to Greater Shepparton Lighthouse Project @gslighthouseproject for funding these sessions.

What happens when students meet BeeMan, a native bee expert? Lots of exploring, learning and creating! With Clancy’s help, students built native bee hotels for Aussie bees and discovered how these tiny insects play a big role in healthy ecosystems, growing plants, and essential fruit and veggies. Bees and Blossoms, Pollinator Education Sessions co-delivered to Greater Shepparton Schools with Clancy Lester and RiverConnect and funded by Greater Shepparton Lighthouse Project.

Well... that was incredible. 💚 Our very first Deep Dive Ballarat sold out, and last night more than 40 curious people came together to learn about Australia’s remarkable native pollinators. A huge thank you to Clancy Lester and Tanya Loos for sharing their knowledge, stories and passion with us. From native bees and birds to bats and even lizards, we all left looking at the natural world a little differently. Most of all, thank you to everyone who bought a ticket, asked thoughtful questions, stayed afterwards for conversations, and helped create exactly the kind of atmosphere we hoped Deep Dive Ballarat would become. This is only the beginning. We’ll be announcing Edition #2 soon, so keep an eye on this page... we think you’re going to enjoy what’s next. 🦆 Until then - keep being curious.
