🌒 LINE UP 🌘 33 days. All over Worthing. And it’s getting weirder by the minute. Folklore, live music, films, exhibitions, making things, writing things, strange gatherings, ancient history, new traditions, pickles, sticks, ghosts, stones, and of course mushrooms. Some of these have been happening for years. Some have been dreamt up in the last few weeks. All of them have found a home under the Weird Worthing Folk Fringe umbrella. And we’re still adding things. This is a fringe. It’s not happening in one place, it’s happening all over town, with a growing collection of artists, makers, venues, organisations and enthusiastic weirdos making things happen. 🌒✨10/10 -💀- 11/11✨🌘 Have a dig through the listings. Pick something you’ve never done before. Tell your mates. Send this to your weirdest friend. And keep your eyes peeled for announcements. 👀 More events, more people, more peculiar little plans still to be announced. ALL TRADITIONS START SOMEWHERE🍄‍🟫

RIGHT THEN. HERE WE GO. The first round of Weird Worthing Folk Fringe listings are here. 33 days of strange, folklore, making, music, stories, workshops, gatherings, films and more. Some of these events already existed and have found a very natural home under the Folk Fringe umbrella. Others have been dreamt up especially for it. Some are tiny. Some are not. Some are ancient, some are brand new. And that is sort of the point. This is not the finished programme. There is lots still to add, and some really exciting surprises to come, but the spontaneous nature of this fringe means that plenty of things are still unfolding. And that’s the wonderful thing about folk. The whole point is to include and open things up, not exclude them because they didn’t adhere to a deadline. There are no rules. No cut-off. If something starts stirring halfway through, in it goes. 🌒✨10/10 -💀- 11/11✨🌘 Have a dig. Pick some things. Tell your weirdest friend. And keep your eyes peeled - there are a lot more exciting things to come. 🌒👀🌘

In and around Worthing, we are absolutely spoilt for choice now, with brilliant bars, cracking pubs, independent cafés and restaurants right at the top of their game. Here’s a little taste of what caught our eye this week. 👀 And if you’re eating or drinking somewhere good, tag @WorthingWave in your photos so we don’t miss them when we do this again next week. Basically, we’re asking you to show off. It’s for research. 🍴
